  • GDT: SDSU vs Denver 8pm FB&T Arena CBSSN

The rematch of the past SLT Championship is the CBS 8pm game to open conference. The Pios are preseason last place choice which is not unusual as they were the #7 seed in the SLT as they advanced to the final. HC Wulbrun had the Pios at 17-17 in 2023-24. That is a huge turnaround from Billups days. 7' Carr has been out of the lineup for the past 7 games due to injury which will shorten the Pios considerably. The Jackrabbits will not have Bruner to chase this season as sophomore Craig may have taken that spot. Denver usually provides some physical play. The Jackrabbits should have their feet under them after OOC play and be prepared for contact. The Jackrabbits should be healthy for this game. Go Jacks!!

    Will Dan Jackson be there?

The one good thing that came out of the Alabama game was that the Big O showed that he is back to full strength. That is a bad thing for the rest of the Summit.

Lindsey logged a few more minutes as well. We still saw Jackson, but he had a few less minutes.

Oscar is a really complete player. Such a good passer.

Appears to me the only thing that will stop Cluff from Summit POY is injury. Summit League big men don’t have a chance. He’s great at passing to open players when doubled which will be every time he touches it in the post all year. So incredibly good.

Can’t believe I am saying this with the roster turnover but this is one of the deepest teams we’ve ever had.

With the ruling the Juco doesn't count towards NCAA eligibility, will Cluff stick around for the two years he spent in Juco?

A few random thoughts from an old coach...

                  1. Shonn Green is great color commentary guy on the broadcast. I love it whenever he's announcing. Does a great job, and doesn't over explain.
                  2. Oscar is going to dominate the Summit. 30 and 19 in 25 minutes. I know Denver was short handed up front, but that just ridiculous.
                  3. Goodness gracious our young players are fun... Larson/Sayler/Hadnot/Jackson are all terrific.
                  4. Good to see Lindsey getting some more time, he's good. He's going to have a couple games where he goes off... I can feel it. With the way he can shoot, and the attention Oscar gets, this seems likely.
                  5. Mors looks great. He looks way lighter and quicker.
                  6. Wilkinson also looks lighter and quicker. He's taken away minutes from Wharton and Barnhardt.
                  7. Barnhardt is struggling to see the floor. I like him as a player, but there's only 5 spots on the court...and honestly... I feel like the others are better than him. At least right now.
                  8. Hendo and crew are doing a GREAT job with this team. Defensively, solid. (not great, but solid). Which is a win, with how young they are. Offensively, going to have some nights we struggle, but not as many as our opponents want. And as the season goes on, and they grow in experience and familiarity...look out.

The collective better be passing the hat to get Oscar some money as he will be a hot commodity after this year.

Oscar is listed a a senior. Does he have additional eligibility? Do you think Oscar is helping with improving Wilkinson's skills?

He spent 2 years at a JUCO, which no longer count against eligibility as decided by the courts.

We should be able to get Doug Wilson and Luke Appel back on the roster as well! Does that give Oscar 1 or 2 years to finish his collegiate play? The NCAA board has certainly illustrated their impotence and relevance.
