  • GDT: SDSU vs Nevada 9pm Lawlor Events Center ESPN+/Mountain West Network

Nevada is 3rd place preseason Mountain West pick. If you wonder where Steve Alford landed, it is as HC for the Wolfpack. Half of the roster has enrolled in another program before Nevada. The starters are an experienced group with the youngest is a RS junior. They will have good length as team. There are 3 sophomores in the 9 man rotation. There is not a freshman on the roster. There are 7 who are seniors through 6th year players. This will be a great game for the youngish Jackrabbits playing on the road. The Jackrabbits have been shooting the ball over 47% & rebounding is +11. They need the 3pt percentage to inch up to win a game like this on the road. Go Jacks!!
Best to remember these are kids and they are doing everything they can to entertain us, be scholars, and all in all be great humans. Jackedforlife

Tyler said they're something like 9th in the nation on 3's at 40.some %. They only take 17 a game and have already taken 6.

Mors with 2 3's already, including one he kinda threw up because he thought shot clock was expiring.

I see that they've activated their Purple Haze filter on one of the cameras.

Tight game. Lots of threes fired on both sides. Good half so far. Some nice rebounding and defensive plays from the Jacks.

Some really good defensive plays by the Jacks. I read your post right before we forced that steal on their weak attempt to set up in the post at about ~:45 left in the half.

Wilkinson and the other freshmen with some really good plays. Going to need a strong second half to get the win but this young team continues to impress me!

Nevada running no offense has been a big help.

Nevada has made some big adjustments out of the half. Quickly take the lead. They cannot miss. Still a close game.

Their athleticism has taken over. They are just a little bit quicker with their hands and their feet. Down 14, maybe we can get things going to make it interesting to finish.

Oscar didn't get the minutes he normally does and wasn't real effective when he was in the game. Wonder if he still isn't quite 100 % from the ankle.

Jacks played about as well as could be expected on the road against such a veteran laden team.

Played really well the first half, 2nd half... Nevada got really hot (a few of the shots they were hitting late in the game (last 7 minutes or so), were decently defended, but they would dribble around go 1 on1, and nail a step back).

With 7 seniors going against several freshmen (several true freshman), not too surprising on the road. Jacks would have had to have shot lights out.

You could tell that Alford really emphasized taking Cluff out of the game. He was drawing lots of double team attention.

This is a really good game for the Jackrabbits to learn from. This will make them better and stronger for the Conference season. I have high hopes for this squad. The young talent is ridiculous.

                              Keep grinding guys!
