  • GDT: George Mason Patriots vs SDSU Jackrabbits 5pm Flagler Gym

2006 Patriot alum Tony Skinn is in his first year as HC. They are 3-1. They have defeated Monmouth, Austin Peay, & Cornell. They have a preseason pick of 10th in the 15 team Atlantic 10. The Patriots seem to have a stiff defense at times. 6'9" appears to be the tallest player. The Jackrabbits will not see the length of UCF today. The Jackrabbits should be able to reduce the number of turnovers and get a win in Florida today. Go Jacks!!
Best to remember these are kids and they are doing everything they can to entertain us, be scholars, and all in all be great humans. Jackedforlife

Looks like Nate Barnhart started in place of William Kyle. Kyle enters the game at the first media timeout.

Mors continues to really struggle. Hope he eventually can contribute more. Barnhart’s 3 pt shooting is going to be a great weapon. Rebounds have been the big difference tonight.

All that matters is Summit league play… but can’t help but be concerned on the start to the season.

We have too much talent to be 1-4. Minus K State these have all been very winnable games. I have felt we have often underperformed under Hendo especially during the non conference parts of the season. Hopefully things change soon.

5-12 from the line? That's your game right there...

Not true. These games are there to improve a seed if we win the SLT. Saying these games essentially don’t matter is like saying it’s ok to lose. 0 DI wins on the year. Yuck.

If we make the tourney it’s a successful year, if we don’t then it isn’t.

In the grand scheme of things these games mean very little.

This season there doesn't seem to be any Summit teams that have the potential to be better than a 13-14 seed at best.

The downside to the football program's ascendance to the top of the FCS has been the loss of interest in basketball, specifically on the men's side. I know I sound like a doomer, but there's just no excitement for this program. Henderson has done nothing to create excitement in this program, and fan apathy seems to be increasing. The program is finally getting some investment from the university in the form of the new arena, but something has to change with on court results. No reason we should be 1-4 right now.

Hopefully Henderson can right the ship and get some excitement back into the program.

Not sure how much of this belongs at Henderson's feet.

I'd like to see a survey of factors impacting fan interest, as it's likely construction-related impacts (e.g., restructed restroom access) may be impacting attendance.

I saw multiple fans whom I also see at football games when I attended the BB doubleheader.

I think this is more the a natural result of the huge success of the football program than any particular issue with the MBB program. Football is definitely top-of-mind right now for Jackrabbit Nation and will stay that way as long as the football team keeps winning. It is howeveer also true that both basketball teams have not had the season start they would have liked--men moreso than the women. The men have been on the short end of several extremely close games, but it's far too early to hit the panic button, IMHO.
