  • GDT: SDSU vs #9 Arkansas 7pm @ Bud Walton Arena SEC Network+

There is no day off for the Jackrabbits as they look to upset the Razorbacks. Eric Musselman is the 4th year head coach in Fayetteville. It is also the landing spot for an old Summit friend, Todd Lee, who is director of scouting for the Razorbacks as the Grand Canyon duo have hooked up again in Arkansas. The attachment gives you an idea of the recruits coming next year. Arkansas is the 2nd place choice for the SEC and 6'5" Fr G Nick Smith Jr is the preseason first team choice. Smith has not appeared in the box scores yet. The bison played this team earlier and lost by 18. The Jackrabbits will have a day to catch up on sleep tomorrow after a physical game against the Bonnies. We can hope the 3 pt shots start falling tonight as the speed and physical game will likely continue tonight. The Jackrabbits will need all players to reduce turnovers as 25 turnovers will not fly well in Arkansas. Go Jacks!!

Some interesting notes from listening to the Hogsville podcast - link also has an article including a preview / some Musselman quotes from his presser

        - 11 new players (including freshmen and transfers)
        - noted that Smith won't be playing as mentioned by Musselman during his SDSU preview
        - team played four games in Europe in early-mid August (2 in Spain, 2 in Italy)
        - lost to now #11 seed Texas in exhibition game by 20
        - forced 30 turnovers against Fordham and 14 against NDSU
        - Not a three point shooting team (went 4/10 against NDSU and 2/16 against Fordham)
        - 6'7" guards

Jackrabbits will have to play better than they did against the Bonnies.

Arkansas is a Musselman team, so they have a lot of imports and transfers (he always does that), and they may struggle early in the year.

He's been successful at Nevada and now Arkansas with that method.

I always like Muss... no real reason why, but he's kind of polarizing.

This is a good opportunity for the Jackrabbits to play a solid Major conference team.

Anyone know why the crowd is booing Zeke when he touches the ball?

Don't think it was just him. I think they were just "booing" the Jacks in general

Nice to see Zeke’s 3 go in. Maybe we can get the lid off the basket from distance.

I think Tyler said the student section boos the best player on the opposing team any time they touch the ball.

There is an audible difference when Zeke has the ball. Didn't know if there was some old history I was unaware of.

Why did they have to have this game tonight? Arkansas doesn’t play again till the 21st. Did they really say you can only come to our place and play us if a back to back and you have no time to scout and prep?

Alabama and Arkansas seemed to be last two last games added to the schedule, so it's no surprise that Jacks had to be the ones to be flexible. The people commenting on the betting lines on twitter were pretty surprised we were playing back-to-backs. Wait until they find out we have two back-to-backs in our OOC schedule with both second day games against SEC teams.
