Kid has some real talent, but obviously there is more to the story. He left the perfect team, at the time, for his skills. Then the experiment at UNLV fails and now Utah. My guess is that the people around him are giving him bad information.

As far as the Mors situation, I can't see him going to any place where he won't immediately get significant playing time. This is especially true if it's not a P5 program. I would think that if he came to the Summit, NDSU is a better fit. Who knows what a new coach at USD brings and I'm not sure he gets the playing time at SDSU. Although, I believe his dad was a Jackrabbit for a short time before transferring to Northern.
-South Dakotan by birth, a Jackrabbit by choice.

He won't get playing time at SDSU? He'd start from day 1.

Bruns to USD. Essentially replaces the loss of Cruz Perrott-Hunt. Big get for USD locally.

Not that impressive in the two games against the Jacks. Good scoring numbers, but was a high volume shooter that didn't make a very good % of his shots. Looking at his stats convinced me even more that Zeke should have been Freshman of the Year.

NDSU style is a mirror image of our style of play! Matthew Mors walks on campus and starts from day 1. No conflict, no problems, just a kid ready to help a team win.

I tend to agree, but I imagine being the best scorer on a really bad team leads to a lot of forced shots. Bruns will be a good player for USD, but I'm not convinced he's on the same level as Zeke or even Perrott-Hunt.

Blowing it up in Vermillion - Archambault entering the portal. Lee may have not been popular with some donors, but the team he would have returned would likely have been picked to finish second next year behind the Jacks.

Man, right now they have AJ and Bruns...and that's about it.

They are definitely be bringing in some new blood. That may or may not bode well for the Jackrabbits.

                    • Just wait till Dawn takes a new gig after their run is over, AJ might take off too.

A former Northern State star under Paul Sather. Average 5 points in 17.5 minutes at Northern Arizona last season, including 12 points in 27 minutes in the first round of the Big Sky Conference Tournament. Definitely nothing crazy, but at this point maybe him and Coach Sather would look to reunite.

                        • The WBB job at Butler just opened up. A nice job in the midwestern city of Indianapolis in the Big East conference.

                          • Today’s been a slower news day and it had me thinking…

The current recruitment of Matthew Mors may have the single biggest impact on the Summit League over the next 4 seasons.

If he comes to SDSU, it solidifies SDSU as the top dog for the foreseeable future, and makes SDSU a serious at-large contender if they can put together the OOC schedule.

If he goes to USD, the Yotes become instant contenders. AJ, Bruns, Mors, and more additions to come. USD would put themselves in the conversation to win the summit league. Eric Peterson would be off to a blazing start and the STATE/U games would be crazy over the next 4 years.

And then the boring option- he goes to Creighton or somewhere out of the Summit League. Then it doesn’t matter anyways.

I can’t wait see the decision he makes.

I don’t know where MM goes, but I put my money on that it isn’t used. Just sayin

                              • Some random insights from the Nobody’s Listening Anyway podcast with Zim and Gaskins:

Zim thinks Baylor will declare for the NBA draft similar to what Daum did. He ultimately thinks Baylor returns to SDSU next year.

Says Hendo will be there for at least 1 more year in his opinion.

SDSU is pushing hard for Mors to no one’s surprise.

None of what he said is surprising IMO.
