  • GDT: Tommies vs Jackrabbits 2pm Frost Arena Midco/ESPN+

Today is Senior Day for Doug Wilson. There have been many tremendous players in Frost that played that senior day. Doug has special talents that have made him shine bright in Frost. There ought to be at least one lob & stuff that scorches the net. The defense from Doug is also a strength. The Tommies come into Frost with 7 seniors on the team that are playing the first year of D1 basketball. They play a Princeton offense similar to Denver's old coach Joe Scott. The Tommies average 8.2 turnovers per game which keeps them in many games. They also shoot many shots(46% of fga) from the arc averaging 30.7%. The Tommies took the Jackrabbits to the wire in St Paul. I expect the game plan to be more successful today. Go Jacks!!
Best to remember these are kids and they are doing everything they can to entertain us, be scholars, and all in all be great humans. Jackedforlife

Hope Dougie has a great day today. I remember the angst I had going into the 2019 season. New coach, entirely new roster, and lots of uncertainty for how the future was going to shake out. Doug was the staple of that team and ushered in this new era. Wish I could thank him in person for sticking to his commitment through a coaching change and giving us three terrific years of basketball and helping continue this program standard at the D1 era that Wolters, Dykstra, etc. established.

One of the really great ones to cheer for in the history of the program. Cheers to Doug and has family today!

agree with everything you said nater. Doug is deserving of a very big thank you!! and hendo basically said the highlighted part in his pregame interview with tyler on thursday. talked about being indebted to doug for taking a chance on him as a coach. i would say it has worked out ok for both of them)) hoping there are 8-10 more games left in the Douglas Wilson era of jackrabbit hoops))!!! what the heck lets pull a butler and go for 12 more

well???? i probably have to disagree with the part about dykstra establishing us at the D1 level. unless you just mean he was a player on that team. i always feel like jordan is one of the most gifted/ talented players we have ever had but he really never was the dominant player he could have been. maybe that was partly due to playing with nate. but i think jordan was actually a MUCH better athlete than daum and while i give mike the nod as the better outside shooter, jordan was an excellent outside shooter and i think his other perimeter skills were superior to mikes. i think that was also part of the challenge. i think he preferred to stay on the perimeter. but he did also have a very good low post game

i just felt like jordan was so talented that he could accumulate statistics, points, and rebounds pretty much by accident, and i feel like that is a lot of what he did, without ever really pushing himself to be the player he could have been. i can only think of the denver game his senior year that i thought he really dominated

i feel like besides nate, brayden and tony were really the guys who pushed themselves and their teammates to be the best they could be and really helped to make those teams special. i dont think we ever got to see the best of chad white because i dont think he was ever totally healthy in his time as a rabbit

related sidenote- i will look it up when i am done with this but i am pretty sure jordan is the all time leader in 3pt fg percentage. SO YES he was an excellent outside shooter. i still give the nod to mike. mikes career percentage was badly hurt by him being hurt his senior year. he was over 40% first 3 years and 37% as a senior and he had shoulder surgery shortly after the season that kept him out of nba combine drills, so even though it was NEVER talked about, he was DEFINITELY bothered by it

but if i had to pick one guy to hit a 3 against good to great defense with the game on the line, i take mike over jordan without hesitation. i probably take him over anyone we have ever had

Baylor Scheierman isn’t the answer here, but I think he’s closer than people think. He might have 2 more years to raise those stats too.

Same. Just a piece of **** app. Their mobile app is the worst, ESPN+ never works. You'd think a global media leader could figure this out.

Nope. Somebody didn't flip a switch. Last time this happened, MidcoSN had everything right and ESPN messed it up.
                Holy nutmeg!

the amount of illegal screens they set is amazing and annoying.

You know its bad when KNewitt mentions the 2nd charge on wilson shouldnt have been called yet other times there is a lot of contact that the toms dont get called for. Thats pretty shocking Knewitt was calling something that Jacks fans were probably thinking also.

The toms defense reminds me a lot of NDSU, they play more physical and the refs let the hands and grabbing and illegal screens go.

They let a lot go there. In the Summit, that means we're going to see 30 fouls called in the second half.

and 3 in the summit league tournament. with out bringing up bad memories, in the summit tourney, we beat western ill easily in frost the last game of the year. Then their center a foul machine with out saying names, basically mugged duam in the tourney game and were not all of a sudden fouls. consistency is best.
