They beat the Jackrabbits twice last year. They are a top team in the Big West. It will be quality win if the Jackrabbits can beat them.

Sagarin has the Jacks ranked #120 and UC Irvine #125.

What do we know about UC Irvine?

They have 3 very talented big men. Daum will have his hands full. A lot of two post "horns" type action. They struggled (much like the Jacks) in their last exhibition game against D2 Alaska Anchorage.

They return 2 starters from last year.
One of them is 6'10"(Jr) and he led the team in rebounds and blocks but he only averaged 4.4 PPG. He was the conference defensive player of the year.
The other is 6'5" (Jr) he is another good rebounder and blocked several shots, too. He only averaged 3.1 PPG last season.
Their other 3 starters are new.
It looks like neither of the returning starters scored much. SDSU might have some problems scoring in the post but I don't know how bad a 6'10" post wants to come out to the 3-point line to guard Daum either.

They have won over 20 games a season for the last five years. A very solid team.

One of the few universities in the USA who can seriously compete with "Jackrabbits" as a nickname.
