We are the worst defensive team I have ever seen. When somebody hits, oh, I don't know, 20-some threes and you don't even have a man-to-man defense to switch into to slow things down? What is that? It's really awful to watch.

When are people going to let it go about man to man defense. Every game this season people have complain about them not even trying man. It's not going to happen. We are a zone team now so figure out how to accept that and quit complain about it every game.

And how's that zone working out? WSU has had about 30 wide open threes tonight and has hit 15 of them. School record. They were something like 2 for 17 in their last game.

Otz said coming in he likes to mix it up, man-to-man and zone. We don't play man ever.

While I'd agree with you on something like this, it's pretty bad that the team doesn't play any of it. The only team I can think of in the country that does it is Syracuse and they have huge guys all over the court. I'd be curious what the team would do if they were up 3 with 10 seconds left. Still play zone?

15 now. I can't remember more than a couple of contested threes. And I can remember maybe 10-15 where there was nobody in the same zip code.

Closest game played there this year by the vi s I tors. Our defense still needs work. Play anything you want, but a little more success would be great.

So this is acceptable defense in your mind? Do I sound like somebody who's giving up? I've been watching Jackrabbit basketball for almost 50 years. This is the worst defense I have ever seen. Giving up would be not caring that we can't stop anybody. We don't need to be the best defensive team in the country to win. There are a whole bunch of great offensive players on this team, including one of the best in the country. A little defense would be enough.

It's Wichita state on their home court. The spread was 21 and we lost by 22. If you are surprised or upset by that I don't know what to say.

I loved what Orris brought tonight. Daum looked good against high-level competition as well. He's come a long way in terms of being able to handle double teams and really looks ready to tear up Summit-level competition.

Agreed the offense was great against a really good defensive team. People used to talk on this board about how Nagy's teams gave up too many threes. They never looked like this.
