Thank goodness for free throws. Through 4 games at frost we have made 55 more free throws than our opponents....

25-26 tonight. Impressive shooting with Daum 13-13. For the year,Daum has shot 100 ft. Next closest player has 29

El Darwich definitely has areas of his game that need work, but he rebounds from the PG position as well as anyone that I can recall.

It was too ugly to find much encouragement. It does extend the streak.

                Re: Idaho

The game against Idaho illustrates the need for defensive adjustments. The Vandals have made 66 3 point shots in 9 games. The 2 games against the Jackrabbits they made 27-61 at a 41% success. The other 7 games total 39-138 totaling 28% success. This does not involve any offensive rebounding by the opposition which may also produce substandard levels. The playing of the zone will require some serious adjustments if a so-so shooting team like the Vandals has this kind of success.. I expect there will be much better shooting teams on the rest of the schedule that will blister the Jackrabbits from beyond the arc.

That makes it more scary when I look at the defense for this squad. The Vandals outrebounded us by 10 in Idaho and 8 at Frost with many of those on the offensive boards. Coach Otz mentioned we need to be patient during the process. I am hoping that the patience does not require waiting for next year.

True. If your going to be a zone team you had better be darn good rebounding team, which we are awful right now.

Konchar from IPFW will be licking his chops.

                        Re: Idaho

When the opposing team shoots a lot of threes, there are going to be a lot of long offensive rebounds. You can have inside position and be doing a good job of blocking your man out and still give up rebounds when they carry out to the free throw line area. While not true all the time, this has happened on a good number of the offensive boards the Jacks give up.

We don't make free throws and we lose to Idaho and wayne.. but making fts are a part of bb and been very crucial this year.... the halftime adjustments or non adjustments haven't been ideal... but it's a win and something to build on and beats the hell out of losing
