Losing by 18 to UC Irvine is worse than the other night.

Offense and defense is a complete mess right now.

On the other hand, what's our D1 record in the state of California? Has to be awful

I believe I saw on the game preview today SDSU is now 0-16 all time in the state of California. Tonight is much more concerning than Friday in my estimation. No offensive flow. Killed on the glass. It's a long season but this team has miles to go.

I would believe the players are capable of running, but it appears that defense has taken a back seat to something else as much as anything. Gentry had 2 TO in the first half and none in the second half. Daum had 7 TO's as they continued to pound the ball low while the coverage was there. 29% FG is most disappointing while going 5-30 beyond the arc. Flatten shot a bit cold, but he was a promising player out there tonight. At least the team had a trip to the west coast and they will be ready to get Coach Otz a win against Wayne State in Brookings before they hit the road again. I am looking forward to the shooters getting on target and seeing a game that scores in the 60's or even the 70's before the season gets too far along.

The poor shooting doesn't worry me too much. I've seen our best teams go through phases where open shots don't fall. Odds are that will get better.

My big concern is whether we have the athletes to play this fast-paced style. It just looked so forced last night and it clearly affected how we played on defense. There were so many times I wanted to see them settle in and put together a good possession but someone tried to charge to the rim or forced a quick pass that got tipped. Nagy would have lost his mind!

Jacks play Anteaters again on black friday in the Pentagon. Hope Jacks can pull same result as 3 years ago with UND. Sad game this one be. Obiwan shakes head
