  • GDT: SDSU @ NDSU

Scheel Arena will be an active place today. SRO are the only tickets on sale. The Bison football team will be honored at today's game. That could even fill in the chairs that normally sit empty. This still could be a year the Bison are vulnerable for a home defeat. Dupree left the team and a 25 minute gap of playing time. There is still a solid group of players who can shoot the ball. Nagy commented that the Jackrabbits needed to win a few more of those loose ball battles and hit the floor to recover some balls. The Bison have that Dex factor in the line-up as the hustle factor. Today will be a great test for those battles. The Jackrabbits will need to take their No Doze pills and defend against the weave offense of the Bison much like they did against Denver's Princeton offense. The continued success of the offense may quiet the home crowd today. Jackrabbits should get a tough road win today. Go Jacks!!

Everything points to SDSU having a better team this year. However, we never seem to play them well in Fargo. Hopefully that changes today.

This will be a good test but these are the games they need to win if they are going to be the solid #1 seed. We will learn a lot about our team tonight. They have to take a lot of confidence from Thursday.

Not sure on Bittle for tonight. Anyone else heard anything?

It was doubtful to see Bittle. Game is on Midco at 4:30.

          Re: GDT: SDSU @ NDSU

No matter what the SDSU talent level, Fargo has not been kind to us over the past decade. Getting a win up there is a big deal and should never be expected by us fans.

As much as some of their fans have downplayed it, losing Dupree is a big deal. He may have no longer been a starter, but hey was a key backup that allowed the other guards to catch their breath.

Here are some numbers from their first game without him (vs USD).

          Kabellis: 40 minutes
          Jacobson: 40 minutes
          Miller: 37 minutes

What's that tell you about the guards they have sitting on the bench? Make Kabellis and Miller run - one of them will have to chase around Parks or Marshall. Getting them in foul trouble would be a big deal also. NDSU is walking a thin line now.

            FWIW: Vegas has SDSU -1.0

Someone has to be in Paul Millers face at all times. Can't afford to give him open looks especially early.

Will be interesting to see how the team responds to the last road game they played at IUPUI.

I have a feeling that Parks is going to go off tonight. I think the team has been waiting for this game since March.

I can't wait for the comments to come in on Zim playing punch out and tweeting about it as he waits for the game to start instead of trying to find the latest scoop on football recruits.

Very happy he's sticking with these two.

6-6 game after the first media timeout. Both teams are 2-7 FG.

Telly hit a 3; Good sign.

So much for that. Theisen sitting with 2 fouls already. Both forced up bad shots.

Jacks can't shoot again so far.

They are 2-12, Bison are 3-12.

Bison leads 9-6 with 12 min left in the half.

Six points in eight minutes is rough. Fouls are piling up quickly also. It's a good thing NDSU is struggling. Brown already has 2 air balls.

Not sure I can watch that stupid NDSU waste-time-weave for the next two hours. Ugh.
                              Holy nutmeg!
