  • GDT: UC Santa Barbra Gauchos

The Gauchos come into Frost with a 2-4 record. They played UNO in the first game of the season and won by 1. They also hung tough against a solid Arizona State team. Tip off is at 2pm.

Hopefully this isn't a let down game like the UMKC game.

The Gauchos are preseason picked to finish second in the Big West. They have had a 4 game skid playing 4 Pac 12 teams. They might be better than the 2-4 record appears. #24 Bryson is also all conference pick and averages 18.5 ppg. The Gauchos have not scored 70 points in a game yet this season.

7 points in less than 9:00 for King. He's going to have a couple more weeks to gain valuable experience that should pay off down the stretch this year and definitely next year.

Jacks' offense is running smoothly. Their defense could be a lot tighter.

Up 24-18 with 10:00 to go in half.

Both teams shooting better than 60%. With 3:45 left to half, Jacks up by 5, 41-36.

Good to see those bench points. Note that the UCSB board calls us South Dakota.

Offense obviously good. Defense and rebounding not good. Nagy during the halftime interview: "We should be up by 20." God I love him.

Telly hasn't scored much, but he's made some good passes off of drives. Young guys look really good. Nice to see Deondre play the facilitator role for most of the half and then take over when we need him too.

If they were up by 20, he'd think they should be up by 40. Those high expectations are why he gets so much out of his players.
              Holy nutmeg!

Also, that Bryson kid for Santa Barbara is fantastic. Really smooth.

Just saw we had 21 bench points. Considering one guy on our bench is starting due to injury and one guy one the bench is injured, that's fantastic.

Reeds block on his dunk attempt was clean! But yeah Bryson is very very good.

The effects of Marshall and Bittle being out that half really showed at times. Putting up 50+ in spite of their absence is pretty impressive.

The two centers did a nice job offensively. Faun has never met a shot he didn't want to take. Both of them were a big part of Nagy's complaints about lackluster defense and rebounding though.

We should be in good shape with Bittle coming back.

The announcers on Midco just commented that between Theisen and Daum they are exceeding what we got out of Cody last year. Coming into the season my biggest concern was the post position. We knew what we had in the backcourt, but those guys in the post have been huge.

Bittle with huge back to back 3s. Second one was a nice cross over step back.

Fouls have been super touchy on both sides, but Jacks are starting to pull away as the UCSB shots stop falling.

This team is very good even without Marshall.

Agree on the fouls. Think you can argue that should have had a bigger effect on us with all the guys in foul trouble.

Think we had five or six guys with 3+ fouls.
