I have a UMKC story: When the Jacks first started in the Summit, we beat the 'Roos in KC and the KC Star's Jason Whitlock (yes, that Jason Whitlock, the untalented, blow-hard whack-job conventional wisdom machine who wasted tens of millions of ESPN's money starting an African-American sports and culture version of Grantland then got fired and hired at FoxSports for some unknown reason) wrote that UMKC should never lose to a team from South Dakota. I politely pointed out many things he didn't know about SDSU basketball. His emailed response was a phrased that started with "F" and ended with "off". Jason Whitlock is a bigger joke than UMKC sports.
When he was in charge of that new Web site, he once sent his staff a book of inspirational quotations he compiled from the likes of Martin Luther King and Nelson Mandela. But the person he quoted most frequently in the book: Jason Whitlock. Loser.
Probably a little flat from the travel and lack of a "flashy" opponent. KC might not be too bad either, having only lost to Minnesota and Omaha (OT on road).
We will have to find a spark to get the win. It has not happened so far. KC is taking care of business.

An ardent supporter of the hometown team should go to a game prepared to take offense, no matter what happens.Robert Benchley US actor, author, & humorist (1889 - 1945)

The whole Deadspin/Greg Howard piece on The Undefeated was mind blowing.
