Congratulations to all who receive academic honors.

I do have a question pertaining to the Matt Jones selection. I always thought academic all-conference honors were bestowed to those who excelled in the classroom and on the field. Matt has obviously done well in the classroom, but has been limited in his play on the court. So my question is, does or should a players contribution on the court count toward recognition as academic all conference?

This was really put to the test in the late '90's when a Jackrabbit football player received academic all-conference honors and didn't play a down.
