Last night Ben Beran's aunt and uncle sat in front of me at the UNO game. We soone got to visiting. Ben's uncle and aunt commented on how much they enjoyed their visits to Brookings and how friendly the SDSU fans were to them.
They also share some tragedy that happen to the Beran family over the Holidays. Ben has an older brother who is on the BB team and Senior at Truman State in Kirksville, Missouri. While coming home from a game in Kirksville, Ben's father rolled their vehicle on an icy road.
Bens father had his spinal cord severed and will be para palegic for life. The Beran's have good size farm operation, and his uncle said that Ben may likely take over the operation when he completes his education at SDSU.
They also said that Coach Nagy had been a real comfort to Ben during this tragedy which is going to be a real adjustment to his father who is doing real well in adjusting and to his family too. Keep Ben in your mind and prayers.
