They had programs from years past hanging up around the arena and you're correct, the Shootout used to attract some of the big boys. Kentucky, Syracuse, Duke, on and on..... That was before all these other tourneys started though.

I'm hoping SDSU is in the field next year so Divine can play close to home. For a mid-major its still a decent tourney.

Not sure the boys would so excited! From Cancun Challenge to the Yukon Challenge. Leave the swimsuits at home.
Nothing better than "motorboating" the Gophers!

Lol...details. They certainly won't be tempted with white sand beaches.

The weather in Anchorage isn't a whole lot different than Brookings though so in that respect it's not a huge shock.

Jacks into top 50 at #48 of Ken Pomeroy's rankings. Weber State comes in at 137 and Middle Tennesee State at 101. Next highest summit team I believe is NDSU at 130. I still have zero idea how these rankings are formulated but 48 is better than 49 I guess.

I have trouble figuring out these rankings as well. Jacks are rated in the same general range in the 3 widely accepted computer rankings , between 41-50 in KenPom, Sagarin and RPI while Oral Roberts is 51 in RPI,151 in Sagarin and 168 in KenPom. ORU has been rated very high in RPI all season even though their record has been barely above.500 and their strength of schedule doesn't look that great, although they did play Oklahoma.

While it clearly means nothing and is just speculation, Jacks show up as a 12 seed in Lunardi's latest bracket.

Another good spot to find ratings for both men's and women's basketball.

It does mean nothing, but it is fun to dream because the 12 seed is kind of the coveted spot for the Jackrabbit men right now. I can't see a Summit team getting any higher and 12 is the firdt spot where underdogs can clearly win.

And in Des Moines to boot, that would be awesome, baby, with a capital A.

SDSU tabbed as 1 of 8 potential at large mid majors. Even after IUPUI loss. http://www.sbnation.com/college-bask...-wichita-state

I will save you all the trouble. A mid major with losses to Weber, IUPUI, and UMKC with no top 50 wins will NOT be getting an at-large bid.
