It could be some interest to have more players on roster for practice. He has not had any eye catching stats. He would likely qualify as grad student.

Maybe the plan is to continue to play small ball?
We may be looking over Dykman as a solid contributor at the 4. We can still use more depth there, but he may be able to fit that spot in the rotation. Daum can move to the 5 as part of the rotation. Hess and Telly could slide in there as needed at the 4.

Looks like Coach Otz wants a lot of competition coming into the season, which is a good thing.

While Flatten, Severyn, King, Dykman, and Gentry may very well come into their own next year and replace what was lost to graduation without missing a beat, they definitely aren't going to be handed anything.

Our only real known quantities coming into the 2016-17 season are Daum, Theisen, and Telly. Better to hedge our bets by adding experienced college basketball players than just banking on the development of some of our younger, inexperienced players.

That gets up to 12 players on scholarship, so there would still be a scholarship available for a grad transfer big if one would become available.

I'm assuming this is a "add depth and experience" kind of move and not a "add a major contributor" kind of move based on his stats. Career 17% 3 point shooter and 30% over all. Yikes.

Need one more big for this year if we can...

Orris provides depth at PG next season. IMO, Gentry was the only true PG on the roster (maybe Darwich also?). Doesn't look like Orris can shoot a lick, but he has solid assist/to ratio.

I missed that Orris was a grad transfer, too. Makes sense.

Might be take who you can and who can contribute. skilled post transfer players is probably on just about every teams wishlist. I think if Devine stayed I wouldnt be concerned. I I think he finally started to come into his own. was excited for his senior year. basically flatten and severyn and telly will have to play a lot of 3. and maybe the 4 if either Thisen or Duam gets into foul trouble. I think we would probably see both Duam and Thiesen start but unless we get another big who can play, they probably wont be on the court a ton at the same time. I expect them to both get plently of minutes though.
