Hortsman, sprained ankle at last game. Probably be back next game.

The start at NDSU is still embarrassing regardless.

Hopefully we can keep the mo up. They were impressive today.

Love the optimistic viewpoint. Fact is Jacks haven't proven anything yet. I think they have potential. Time will tell if they have the guts to fulfill it.

A 31 point win at home and a 19 point win on the road doesn't prove anything? The Jacks are playing really well ever since the 2nd half in Fargo. The NDSU game lit a fire and the team has responded. NDSU beat this same Omaha team by only 3 points a couple days ago. These next three game will tell a lot about the team. IUPUI, USD, and IPFW all come to Frost this week.

Some one else did not think George Marshall earned his playing time that he is getting. I think we are proving to become a very good basketball team, myself is thinking. Come tourney time, we could be in the drivers seat.

I agree with Jack MD it doesn't prove anything but it is a very good sign but they must show that they can maintain the intensity and focus as a team unit. Upward trend for sure though, I'd suggest buying in and getting out to watch this team and enjoy the basketball.

I agree, but as Nagy said, the road trip was brutal and the guys did not get to sleep in their own bed, plus its impossible to practice on the road. I have a feeling things are turning around which seems to prove something.

                      Re: Omaha

Good win over a much worse than I thought, Omaha team. I'm not sure how well we defended the 3 or was it a matter of them not being able to shoot but 1-16 is a joke. Couple that with the fact there were about 87 people at the game and refs that apparently had family in the stands too, it was a hard game to watch. I'm curious to find out about SD this weekend. Off to a nice start in play.

Would be nice to stand at 4-2 after the weekend.

Oh, so Nagy knows what he is doing again? Just checking! RELAX!

These are 18-22 year-old men. There are going to be more games that aren't pretty but I suspect we will see a lot more games where these guys put things together. Now they get a prolonged home stretch which is just what doctor Jackmd ordered.

Defense is the key. If they become a great defensive team then lookout league!

Your comment in bold raises a good question. Do you think defense significantly affects a teams 3 pt percentage?

                            Re: Omaha

A hand in the face certainly gives a shooter something else to think about but my impression after watching was Omaha couldn't throw it in the ocean. Of course the one they make (OUT OF 16) the toolbag that made it #5 goes six shooters. The hilarity of course ensued as they missed everything after that one.

Omaha is shooting 33% on the year , so they were definitely off. I guess the old saying that if you live by the 3 you also die by it proved true in this case.

Don't know, but the NCAA ranks teams by 3 pt shot/defense, so leaning yes because some teams consistently play better three point defense than others. We rank 80/349 at 30.9%.Not too bad
