No question if you have an open scholly and there's a decent one year player out there, you grab him.

It would be entertaining to see 3 more all conference player academic all league honors. Heemstra, Dykstra, and Carlson are representatives from SDSU this year. 3 out of 6 is a strong number from these talented young men!

Whats our scholarship situation? Thought we had too many when Marshall transferred for next year so we were discussing who was leaving the team.......?

Would he be eligible next year?

I thought that Marshall was private pay when he arrived??

            Re: Next year

Bumped into Coach Nagy at a function in Dallas during the Final Four. He talked about this years team and next years team. Main theme? A lot of uncertainty. He is anxious to see how it all comes together. There were a bunch of current and former coaches and players present, mostly A10 programs, Nagy seemed to have a few connections. I was certainly not expecting to see him there nor was he expecting to see us.

I believe he is paying his own way this semester , who knows what happens in the future.

TV says Donlon is transferring out for more playing time and Marshall will pick up his scholly.

No big surprise there. There was clearly an issue when Donlan barely even got into the games in garbage time.

                    Re: Next year

It was pretty obvious that Marshall wasn't going to 'pay his own way' and whose scholly he was going to get. Best of luck to Matt at his next college.

Yeah, no big surprise here. Donlan clearly wasn't in the future plans and being a kid a long ways from home I kind of expected to see this happen.

The handwriting was on the wall when Donlan wasn't traveling to road games.

Add to that no playing in home games. I don't think he was able to do what the coaches wanted from him. I have no inside info, but it seems obvious he was not progressing. Maybe the MVP in the NSIC. Who knows?

didnt nagy say Donlan was the biggest in improvement from the year before, i guess similar to what he said about prince being the most improved also the year before that, then they both left. wonder if it was just nagys way of saying he saw progress but needed to see more maybe, tried to call um out to raise their game maybe. hope for the best for him.

Didn't we just have a discussion a few months ago about what would happen if a better player came along and another player's scholly was "pulled" for the better player?

I based my comments on his no show in the games I watched on Jumptv and actually attended. In fact off hand I don't recall Nagy saying this about Donlon. Some one will surely pull a direct quote out of the media guide or something to that affect. We did not make his experience at SDSU a good one, that is for certain. Its a disappointment.
