TV says the winner of the Jacks game plays Oregon State - Radford winner. I can't tell for sure because every bracket I click on is blank.

ODU is 186th in Sagarin ratings. SDSU is 135th. ODU must have put in a hell of a bid to get a home game.

It would be interesting to know the bid process. Since the time frame for this tourney and the WNIT are about the same (Wed-Thurs) , can a school put in a bid for both ? What happens if your bid gets accepted for both , and the games end up on the same day or consecutive days ?

It's really disappointing we didn't get a home game for these guys. Glad they got a game.

I just hope we put in a solid bid. They deserve it.

Interesting team, their starting lineup is made up with 3 guards and two forwards. Their forwards are not extraordinarily tall and they have a 7' bench player who sees the court for 7 minutes/game. Yet, they typically out rebound their opponents. Despite the guard play, they have more turnovers and less assists than their opponents. They do have good balance with four players averaging 9.5 pts/game or better. Four players have made 30 or more 3 pointers/game.

This is a winnable game but ODU is well coached.
ODU's new coach is Jeff Jones, formerly a coach at American University and at the University of Virginia, where he led a team to the Elite Eight and had his team consistently in the NCAA tournament. Struggled in his last year at American, but took an ODU program that went 5-25 last year and won 16 games this year and finished sixth in CUSA.
He played with Ralph Sampson at Virginia and I think he played a bit in the NBA. I know his wife well and I have met him, heck of a nice guy.
Only common opponent seems to be 8-25 Howard. which we thumped at home and they thumped at home (and pretty much everyone thumped at home). . They probably have no signature win as good as the Jacks' win over 24-9 and NIT bound Belmont. At home Jacks might be favored by about 5-7 but on road will be tougher.

ODU has averaged 6400 attendance the last 4 home games. That might be an advantage for bidding and they have a nice looking facility.

Did sdsu put in a bid do we know? or where they planning on a bid for the WNIT or both? I would like to think so but probably dont have the extra funds to make a large bid. Wonder what the other bids other schools put in.

I would tend to think we did. Dollars might have been right but average attendance on the surface appears to be our problem.
