  • Summit League Tourney 2014

Close enough to start a new topic. Bison are the clear favorite. Seeding remains uncertain outside of them, IUPUI and WIU. I expect USD to be the 5 and Denver the 4 (I think). Hoping Jacks get the 2.

I think DU has the best chance (slim) to upset Bison in semis. I give Bison 90% chance of playing Tuesday.

Coyotes are terrible. They can't win outside the dome. They lose on Sunday for sure.

Jacks will have to suffer through Molinari and a deliberate WIU team if Jacks don't move up to a 2. If we do, it's a fairly easy Saturday game followed by a Monday matchup against IPFW/Denver or WIU (I think). Should have a great pro-jacks atmosphere.

Then, SDSU vs the bison for the bid. This is what I see happening. I plan to be in attendance for every game but the Saturday 2 pm women's tip.

I will make the 2pm women's game. It is important that more than 300 people show up for IUPUI and NDSU or they will think they have the home court advantage! The Jaguars have had a good team for 2 years and still cannot get attention or support in Indianapolis. With only 2 games on Saturday, I may not be as tired by Tuesday night.

If we can have the SDSU fans to NDSU fans ratio we had last year in the final, I would like to think of the game as a 50-50 toss up. We have been playing really well except for last Saturday. If we can play them with the energy Jacks fans bring in the Arena, I believe we have a legit chance.

Can anyone tell me when single session tickets go on sale? I can't find any information on that. Thanks.

I "think" they already went on sale last monday or sometime around there. Pretty sure I read that...somewhere.

If you go here: http://www.ticketmaster.com/Sioux-Fa...ls/venue/49250 you can get single session tickets.

Is there any pre tourney Summit meetings for regular business that discuss mirror or no mirror scheduling or review of schools that may want to join the Summit, etc?

TV's "Too Much TV" podcast interviews Douple, and a good part of the discussion is about all these subjects.

I wonder if NDSU will come out just as flat as our women's team. DU can light it quickly with their 3 point shooting. Being a 1 and getting a bye in the 1st round could end up being a bad thing.

Fun unverified fact: if the Jacks beat IPFW tonight, there will be no team from Indiana in the men's tournament.

Agreed. An easy tune-up game is probably ideal. So much pressure here. If you come out flat it can eat you up- especially with the expectations of a #1. SDSU women looked like deer in the headlights. I hope it happens to NDSU.

                            Definitely not what happened.

No. Definitely. That game seemed to take five agonizing hours. Denver will have a long trip home.
