So if we beat the Bison Saturday will the talk move from the negativity to talk of winning the title again?

Don't mistake reality and observation of poor play for negativity. A win over the Bison would be huge, a loss will be very damaging to any chance of getting that 1 or 2 seed. See, when you lose badly at home to Montana and on the road at IPFW and at home to UNO and then still talk about being the best team in the Summit league it borders on delusional thinking.

Jackrabbits have to win tomorrow before you are going to convince me that a top finish in the league is a realistic expectation. Know what? I am headed up there thinking the Jacks will win, even though the facts suggest otherwise. I think Frost and the crowd and their talent can push them to a bounce back victory. Doesn't mean I am ready to declare a team that has several bad losses the favorite to win the conference title and tourney and make a 3rd straight NCAA appearance.

Really ? That would mean going 4-1 at home and 0-5 on the road. I am not quite as optimistic as I was a week ago , but I would be surprised with those results.

Well we have proven this year we are beatable at home and we played the only easy road game at IUPUI, there is so much parity in the league its impossible to know who will win on the road like UNO did to us then to turn around and lose at home like UNO did. So i figure we can win a few road games, but there is no easy road game left and we have some hard home game still.

Thank you Jack MD. I am looking at reality also. Am a big fan and have been going to games at Frost since it opened. I don't see it this year though.

I think the parts are there to be at least a middle-of-the-pack Summit League team, but the outside shooting has to come around--and fast. Lack of a steady, true point guard presence probably sets 'middle-of-the-pack Summit League team' as the upper limit for this year's Jacks. IMHO, failing a turnaround in those two areas, a third straight trip to the NCAAs isn't going to happen this year.

I think Nagy should just bite the bullet, put Bittle at the starting point and give him the majority of the minutes there, letting Carlson return to the shooting guard slot--and letting White come off the bench at least until his shot comes around. That's about the only thing I can think of which will shake up things in a positive way.

I'd be alright putting Bittle at the point and seeing how he does, but i still want White in the starting lineup. White's shot will come around. Its just a matter of time. He's to good of a shooter not. I think Carlson has done a good job at point, but i think he can get more open looks at the shooting guard position. I'm assuming you would want Heemstra to start in place of White?

Carlson and Bittle already start - if White comes off the bench , who's your other starter ? Would have to be Horstman, or Heemstra with Dykstra moving to the 3 spot.

I mean it's not like the Jacks have won 6 out of their last 8 including one loss on the road to one of the best in the Summit League... UNO was an uncharacteristic loss and I expect Jacks to bounce back well

I'm trying to be optimistic as well. They had been playing well before the UNO game and they shot horrendous in that game. Different game if they hit just a couple more treys.

One thing that does worry me is the last eight games haven't been against the cream of the crop per se.
