    Re: Belmont

Bittle streaking down the lane gets a great feed from White and gets a layup. He has 19.

                Re: Belmont

This is a really big deal, we just knocked off the 4th ranked team in the MM poll. Sounds like Bittle was awesome again. Can somebody that watched it give a quick breakdown of the game, all I know is it sounds like we shot really well finally.

I've always kind of wondered why it wasn't either.

Good win! This should build some confidence. It would be nice to put a streak together.

I think that this is the team we have all been waiting for this season. They may stumble now and then, but if they play this free it is going to be a fun conference season. They just looked so much different and they seemed to have a different energy. We are all going to enjoy watching Mr. Bittle

They shot well, handled some tough defensive pressure OK, and got the ball to the rim. Carlson had it going in the first and couldn't miss, but cooled off at the end of the half and didn't score much in the second. Larson had two huge blocks, Dykstra had one, and I think all three of those blocks resulted in the Jacks getting possession. Broman attacked the basket for a stretch in the second half and got all of his points on three consecutive possessions. Bittle brought it defensively and got 6 steals to go with his 19 points. He scored in every way possible tonight. Three pointer, driving layup, floater, short jumper as the shot clock expired, post move on the low block, catch and a layin running the lane off the ball. He fed Larson underneath for a dunk during the big run in the second. The only bad spot was the 2-7 free throw shooting. Larson pulled down big boards. Dykstra only had one basket, but had 9 free throws.

                          Re: Belmont

Awesome game. Beating this Belmont team would have been a big deal even WITH Wolters. Realtime RPI listed Belmont at #45.

To my untrained eye, Bittle brings energy - and lots of it. That seemed to be contagious tonight. The listless style of play we saw so often a few weeks ago will hopefully be a distant memory. Broman had some big plays during the run at the start of the second half too. He's only going to get better.

This is what we've been waiting to see. There will definitely be more stumbles along the way but if tonight's team shows up in Sioux Falls they can absolutely win.

I still think we are gonna be really good come march. Gonna be some times we are still pretty bad though, but I think tonight shows us the potential. The key to this team is Bittle. He makes us tougher.

Jacks > Belmont > North Carolina > Michigan St. So the Jacks are #1, right?!

Seriously...how good could this team be if they ever start hitting open shots consistently? Until someone knocks us off in SF, we're the team to beat...period.
