It would be great if this fellow can get back on the floor for the Jackrabbits. I believe he is vital to the team. The foot ailment makes it hard to play and heal. It would be great if he is healthy.

I just don't want him to rush back especially against a physical Big 10 team. I'd rather have him 100% for conference play. There's no question that this team will be better once Bittle gets back on the floor and it makes the team deeper with the emergence of Jacobson.

Yes. Glad to hear he is a possibility to play tonight but hope they don't rush it (and I'm sure they won't). With or without Bittle, tonight will probably be fairly brutal for the Jacks. Hopefully they surprise me. Longterm, however, we definitely need Bittle for the January/February grind. I think his defensive skills have been missed more than anything.

              Re: Minnesota

Regardless of whether Bittle plays, it's time for the Jacks to beat Minnesota. The Jacks have beaten tougher teams in the past few years. It's time to take down the Gophers.

The Jacks guard play will really be tested by the Gophers. Richard Pitino has changed from Tubby's slow paced offense to a three guard 40 minute full court press style of game. They have a 5'9 juco all-american point guard that will be tough to match up with.

Alright well this style doesn't bode well for a Jacks win. One thing they haven't done well is handle pressure and not turn the ball over.

Good gravy, we'll be lucky to score 40 points if they full court press us the entire time, if I'm remembering correctly how well we handle full court pressure (and that was with Nate).

                      Re: Minnesota

In one of the earlier games at Frost, Dykstra was used to help break the pressure. It was similar to what Kansas did with Manning when teams pressured the guards full court when they won it all in 1988. If turnovers were a problem they forced the big man to cover Manning full court. There may have some practice going on with full court pressure and now we might see if it works against tougher competition.

Nagy may have to match them with 3 guards of his own and go with a smaller lineup.

That would be White, Broman(Bittle), and Carlson? He has been starting these guys frequently.

                            Re: Minnesota

Gophers front line will struggle with Larson and with Dykstra on the wing. The goofers guards are very good but prone to 1on1 which will help. The goofers don't press all that much in competitive games, I've seen them playing 8 from what I've noticed but will use it to spark a run. The big thing is we gotta make some shots. Be interested to see how Broman handles the pressure of his Mn return. Bittle is not 100% from what I've heard but sounds like is going to give it a shot. Not sure I see a reason. Jacks stay within 10-15 is my guess.

If the Jacks play man defense you would think Carlson gets Mathieu (the quick little point guard) , Broman gets Dre Hollins and White gets Austin Hollins. Those are tough match-ups for Broman and White. The match-up that favors the Jacks should be Dykstra against Oto Osinieks at the 4.
