Carlson misses both. LMU with the rebound and a foul on Larson.

    FT good. Second good.

    Bittle lays it in.

Final score: 98-89 LMU. Really bad defensive effort.

I don't find myself looking forward to opening the home schedule on Thursday against Montana and trying to defend that home record.......

I have a strong feeling that Nagy is going to have these guys righted by the time Thursday rolls around. I think that what happens in practice might be harder than any of these games. Thursday will look like a different team I think..

Dykstra says the defense was a "joke" tonight. I agree. 98 points to Oakland is one thing but 98 to LMU is another.

It just seems very abnormal to shoot that many free throws and lose the game. Unless we only made 1/3 of them....or gave up 98 points.

I would've though being such a tall team this year, our D would be exceptional. Are we just that slow?

                    Nagy

"Offense is not the problem, it's the defense."

On 21 turnovers: "We struggle with pressure and will continue to see it and we're gonna have to figure out how to handle it."

"Only positive thing is that we got humbled. I think we need that. I think the players thought they were better than they were and getting humbled will help that."

"Most important thing is to see how they will respond. Tells the players he's been on both sides of winning and losing. Two games don't mean anything in the long run. It may be the best thing to happen to our team."

When you look at that 50 ft stat, then the 21 turnovers we had was only 3 more than them, i think you have to conclude our defense was bad.

All I can think about after these 2 games is if wolters was here he would have had a solid 30 FT attempts each game with the rule changes. The 2 things I thought we would have to start the year was defense and rebounding. Both need work. I think its going to take this team some growing pains to figurw those things out. Let's hope they are ready to play thursday because if we aren't we are gonna lose the nations longest home winning streak and I would hate to see that fall to montana.

No surprises. Way too many turnovers, not enough intensity in D for 40 mins. Had a chance in both games. Get back to practice, get better, use this time to develop a team that can win the Summit League.
