Better UNI than SDSU. I don't like to say bad things about young people, but I don't think he was caring much about his future when he made these choices. You got to be careful Ben Jacobsen.

When I saw the above post, I wondered where I had heard that name before in conjunction with SDSU. After reviewing old posts (going back to last Fall), I found Jacked4Days post from last Fall. Anyway, good followup, jack power.

@RyanJamesMN: Wheeler Baker will transfer from Albany to North Dakota. Baker is a shooting guard from Osseo HS

I have not had much interest in high school basketball, but I do know that BHS has not been high on talent and getting a coaches kid usually implies talent and that was the case with Tyler maybe not with Nick though, but I digress. I wish Beau Brown the best at SDSU.

That is what you have to do to get a few wins when the talent is down. JackJD, I imagine you know a bunch of Browns throughout SD, so I might have been presumptuous in thinking he was connected to the all time great Steve Brown from the Marking era.

If he doesn't make the team, it won't be due to lack of effort. I like his attitude. Now lets see what he can do. He's a good get for a walkon.

Is Beau part of the Steve Brown family? I know Brown is a very common name, but based on JackJD comment, I thought he might have ties to Hamlin County.

What 18 year old does not need to grow up? With the talent at Mitchell somewhat down, I can see how other teammates would want him to handle the ball and shoot most of the time. Besides that the PG is pretty involved at the HS level.

I wouldn't know Beau Brown from Bo Jackson, but this is a 17-18 year old kid choosing to play college basketball for free at an institution he loves. Seems like just the kind of player we would want, IMO.

He's undersized and not the most athletic player? (Reason for no D-I offers)

I'd have to have someone who saw him in the summer to evaluate his play with other players on the court. Mitchell has been quite bad the past few years, as previously stated can't fault a guy for trying to take over because of it.
