    Re: Butler Bulldogs

Butler is a member of the same conference as UW Milwaukee and those two are generally battling for the championship each season. The Butler teams that I have seen play great defense and tend to work hard for good shots. They had a really good outside shooting team a couple of years ago, but as the article mentions, they had trouble scoring last year. Sounds like the Jacks will match up pretty evenly to the Bulldogs.

Bulldogs Open 2004-05 Season At Home

Butler will host South Dakota State in the first of three straight games at Hinkle Fieldhouse

          Nov. 17, 2004

NO PLACE LIKE HOME: Butler will open the 2004-05 season with a three-game homestand, beginning with a test against new NCAA Division I foe South Dakota State. The Bulldogs' home-opener against the Jackrabbits will take place on Friday, Nov. 19, at 7 PM (EST) in Hinkle Fieldhouse. South Dakota State, a former NCAA Division II program making the move to Division I, is coming off a 27-7 season. The two squads will be meeting for the first time since 1976 and for just the second time overall. Butler won that first meeting, 74-62, at Hinkle Fieldhouse. The Bulldogs' homestand will continue with games against Greenville on Monday, Nov. 22, and Miami (Ohio) on Saturday, Nov. 27.

          Butler is 21-1 in home openers since 1982-83. . . .

I don't know if there's anyone from Indiana on this board, but if so, do you, or does anyone else know, if there's any type of Jackrabbit gathering before the game?

Hopefully the Jacks can pull a Hoosier like victory in the home of the movie tommorrow night.

                Re: Butler Bulldogs

A victory for the Jacks tomorrow would be a huge upset. I hope we can hang with the Dogs for the first half. Aggressive defense and rebounding will be the key and then we need to get lucky and shoot about 60% from the field. Good luck to the boys, this won't be easy.
