  • Greetings from the Bluegrass

First off, I want to say I'm excited about this match up. I watched the Summit championship last year with you all and WIU. I was standing up in the middle of my living room, jumping up and down. Such a great game and I was rooting for the Jackrabbits the whole time.
We had a whirlwind of a season last year and this has been a pretty good season. I've been going to Racer games since I was born (25 years) and I know the best of Racer basketball and the lows. Take away the expectations set by last year, and this is a pretty good season.
I have some words of advice for those that are planning to make the trip, and we'd love to have you.
The nearest major airport is Nashville, it's around 2 hours away. (St. Louis is 3 and a half).
Murray has gotten some newer hotels over the past few years. Holiday Inn Express is on the north side (still close to everything) but the Hampton Inn is right across the street from the CFSB Center. There's many others, but those are the two that are the best.
As far as local watering holes, there's three I would recommend and every local has their own preference for various reasons. The Keg (walking distance from the Hampton), Nick's Family Sports Pub and The Big Apple Cafe.
Nick's is the stereotypical sports bar (TV's everywhere, sports memorabilia on the walls, pool tables, darts, etc). The Big Apple is known for it's food and laid back, local atmosphere. It's across the street from Nick's so you could try them both out.
As far as game time, public parking is available in front of Stewart Stadium (which you will see as soon as you get into town). It's a short walk up a small hill to the arena. Ticket prices are very reasonable, borderline cheap. There's great concessions. Along with the typical food, there's also Starbucks, Culver's and Subway. Here's a review of the CFSB Center from last season:

I hope to see some Jackrabbit fans down here in the Jackson Purchase. I understand those that cannot (I'm not sure I could make the trip if it were reversed) so I hope you like what you see on TV.
    God bless and Go Racers!

    Re: Greetings from the Bluegrass

thanks for the insider advice racer4life and welcome! I don't think I can make this game as I already put my eggs in the Summit League Tournament basket. I too have great expectations for a terrific high quality game.
Message for the youth: “Set your goals high and work for them, because if you set your goals where they should be, it’s going to require a lot of hard work. And even if you don’t achieve them, it shows longevity, and it shows commitment. And those are both things you need for the rest of your life,” Tony Fiegen
