  • Butler game

Not looking/sounding good thus far.  7 footer making it tough for us, he has 9 points and we trail by by 12, 27-15.  I just hope we can hang in there.

    Jacks women haven't tipped yet.

Frustrated or not, its nice to hear Jacks BB on the internet again.

Things going about as expected, even a little worse than I expected.  No offensive flow, poor shooting as a consequence.  No perimeter defense, but what can you expect when undersized.  This will be a blowout.

I hope we score at least 40.  Not looking good right now.

15 points in a half of BB, that is embarassing, no doubt about it.

    Remember the Cal-Davis FB game?

Ugly.  :-[  No points from the guards. All that being said, I still love our Jackrabbits!

      Go State!  ;D

Playing much better coming out of the half, and Mackenzie Casey scored two to get the guards some points.    43-27

          Re: Butler game

Butler withstands early 2nd half run and leads 56-31, looks like we'll break the 50 point mark, I'll take that.

Big difference, Butler 8-18 from 3-point land, what can you do.  Outside shots beat Nagy teams every year (ever since Miller and NSU) and will really hurt us this year.

Casey scores over the 7-footer, not bad hey?   The freshman are sounding good.  Holdren 11 points, Casey 5 points, Butler hits another 3 (9 for the game).  Nagy may want to teach some perimeter defense.

Loney with his 3rd double dribble of the game.  How do you double dribble 3 times in one game?

              Re: Butler game

Not being negative, just realistic. The combination of Hokenson and Geiver might be the most average combination at guard in the last thirty years at SDSU. Just have to work through this. Stay the course. Brighter days ahead.

Those threes have really killed the Jacks tonight. Just heard on the radio, SDSU has actually outrebounded Butler by one so far. It's the first game. They have alot to work on, but there is time yet. Just need to keep getting better and more experienced.

Obviously the Butler defense has caused the miscues.

Loney is a great player. He was awsome last Saturday. We have a good team. We just need time to figure out who fits where. Second half was definately better than the first half.

                        Patience.... Patience...... Patience.......
                        Positives:
Steve Holdren already is a stud (just think - he's a freshman)
Mckenzie Casey is also going to be a very good player

Yes. Both of those players seemed to play really well. Both are just freshman. We will have them for 4 years.

Tough loss. The Jacks will have a few more before things get better.

Things will get worse before they get better. Manhatten would destroy Bulter.

Nice game for Holdren. No way any of our returning 1 or 2 position players can compete at DI, no way. Time to look at the newcomers ASAP. (probably premature on my part but hey, its out there)
