  • Murray State

St.Marys and Creighton will be the game before SDSU vs Murray State. That will get a lot of people to clue into our game. Couldn't have asked for a better time spot or even a better matchup.
It's just an old Army trick I learned in the Navy.

Murray State's arena looks a lot like Frost--the seating is better laid-out, but over all it looks very similar.

I thought so too. A little bigger and flashier, but similar. Hopefully Frost will look more like that after the remodel job.

Murray St. is up by 3 with :20 left. Canaan just hit a Wolters-like 3 to take the lead with :30 to go.

I've been to a game at Murray st. You hit the nail on the head, exactly like frost but a little bigger. Atmosphere was not great but this was also back in 2009 when they were not nearly as good.

Are any of you Jackrabbit faithful making the trip? I know it's not close and Murray's a little town that isn't easy to get to, but we had a couple dozen St. Mary's fans last year and we were nice to them. Dick Vitale came from BracketBusters last year but I don't think we get him this time.

The CFSB Center (or "The Bank") can hold about 8800. I'm guessing 7000-7500 for the BracketBuster game-it sold out last year. Sometimes the Bank is noisy (like last night vs Belmont and for traditional rivals like Peay and Western KY) but sometimes isn't, particularly when the students are away. I arrived in Murray in 2000, so I never got to see games at the old Racer Arena like cowboyracer did back in the horse-and-buggy days , but it was a horrible place for visitors. Small, only held a bit over 5000, incredibly noisy, fans right on top of the benches and the court. The current arena is too big and modern to have that hostile deafening bandbox atmosphere. Racer Arena still exists and the volleyball team plays in it and they even use it sometimes for intramural games!

I actually looked into this but I'm on call that weekend. I imagine there will be a few straglers that make there way to the game, but not many I'm sure.
