The shot clock was running out. What is Jacobsen suppose to do? Nothing else to bitch about tonight?

The last shots were inside the shot clock It is hard for player to ignore that ticking. The last one may be whined about a bit, but when there is a shot clock-the players need to finish that much. Fort Wayne could have quit the bumping and grinding on defense if the shots are out of line. Nice game to see some bench production all the way around

I am surprised no one mentioned Nagy timeout at 17:32 mark in second half. I think it was needed and critical to game.

If they do that early in the shot clock, yeah, it's a problem. If, on the other hand you're clearly trying to chew up clock.....

The bench production was very encouraging. Nagy spoke especially highly of Bittle. Great 2nd half. Good win. Looking forward to Thursday.

I gotta say I am very impressed with Marcus Heemstra's development. He is turning into a very good player. Great game against IPFW

Was fw playing hard and defending to the last second? If so I see nothing wrong with it. If they are saggin off waiting for time to run out then just a half ass lob twoard the basket or just take the to is fine.

                    They were playing hard defense.

That's correct. They were playing defense just like there were 10 minutes left in the game. Time was running out on the shot clock so Jacobson took the shot. The IPFW coach understood perfectly. No apologies for this one!

It is good that the biggest concern we have at this time is whether we were abusing the margin of victory with IPFW.

                          Re: IPFW - Lamb Bonanza

I dont like to see my good friend Roy get beat up for his comment. I will say that it shows how Nagy is respected in the Summit League. Why else would he apologize? I am sure he cares about what his fellow coaches are thinking of him and his team as a host. We got to go to their house before the season is over and seems like we have been blown out of the water in FW. He, Nagy, is full of class and gained respect early on from Oakland, Coach Kampe, especially that first year where we were not very competitive, but Kampe could tell he was up against a good coach who needed some time for building a program. I still see both sides to the ending of the game. Real happy for the win and Horstman and Jacobson getting a three, which might get some scholarship money for Jacobsen as I believe he is a walk on.

I don't think people were taking any shots at Roy .... just pointing out the facts of what was going on at the end of the game which essentially mandated Jacobson take the shot.

ORU was on our side of the court starting to dribble out the clock and he told the player to start the offense. It was completely on the coach and totally classless. I hope we upset them in SF and he has to kick another basketball.

Although i doubt it will happen with this team, they play with little passion and the Summit ref's will never allow it to get past fifth grade physicality.

Just some quotes I pulled from the ORU womens game thread a couple of years ago when Luper drained a three at the buzzer during a blowout win over our ladies team. While I can't claim to know what Roy was thinking, my guess is that he is having a little fun with our double standards whereby it's fine if we do it, but a travesty if it happens to us.

                              Well played Roy, Well played!!
