Re: Mayville St. game
Decent crowd at the game given the name of the opponent. Decent performance by the Jacks, certainly nowhere near the level of a DI team.
Nice looking young players in Holdren, Loney and Casey. Beran is and will be the leader of this team. Green looked very tentative and didn't get much playing time, looks like Loney has moved ahead of him on the depth chart. Holdren is awesome, no better way to describe it. He has excellent body control, shoots well and can rebound for well at 6'4". If his ballhandling improves he can switch back and forth from 3 to 2 and improve our depth at gaurd. Casey did a nice job of penetrating and hit some outside shots.
Geiver and Hokenson struggled even against Mayville's gaurds. They can't penetrate or create their own shots. More frustrating, they failed to enter the ball into the post to open big men and missed cutters several times. Nothing promising from DeJong although it sounds like he played a lot of minutes against UIC.
Going to be a long year but the future looks bright. With a nucleus of Beran, Loney, Holdren and Green some potential in Casey and the current redshirst plus future recruits things should be okay in 2 years.
