      TV was asked something like, "what is this team missing?" on today's game chat. His answer: "toughness and intensity". That description pretty much covers Callahan. I knew we would miss him but I think I vastly underestimated how much. I have a feeling he would be busting heads in that locker room.

      The good thing is that we are 8-3 and (aside from Hoffstra) we have won all the games we "should". We still are in great shape if things come around. I'm just hoping we can get one (or maybe two) wins on the big upcoming road trip. It won't be easy.

        In Nagy's post game interview he said we shot 51% and gave up 55% in the first half and were behind by 1 at the half. Second half we shot 38% and gave up 29% and outscored them by 7. So it is not offense that will make this team better, it is defense.

          Look, Nagy can harp defense all he wants but the heart and soul of these white boys is shooting and passing. Your kidding yourself if you believe otherwise. Is the D important ? Duh. It's a part of the game so it's important. But the defining characteristic "IMO Fellas" is the way the Jacks can effortlessly pass the ball and knock down shots. The Key or the Answer? There is no such thing. Off !

                    Defense or offense is a bit difficult to determine, but the one number that has me concerned most is the 20 minutes from 3 reserves. There are number of things that make this a scary stat We could have a foul problem with one or more players. We could have more injuries pop up. We could run into a team that wants to run and place defense on the ball which makes 35 plus minutes difficult for all the players. We could need a " rebuild" year because of the lack of experience. We need to get some confidence in the bench sooner rather than later. OOC may have been a good place even though the fan board would be more vocal with losses than wondering about defense first or offense first. Does anyone have an idea why the reserves are not coming up to grade for playing time? It is a long season yet for the day in day out pressure on the starting 5.
                    Best to remember these are kids and they are doing everything they can to entertain us, be scholars, and all in all be great humans. Jackedforlife

                      I think you can count on that. We're not just losing Wolters, but Fiegen too. Those two have been head and shoulders above the rest this year. Several RS/true freshman are going to have to step up in a big way next year.

                            Tired of hearing about oh we are missing so much intensity and toughness so we aren't as good this year. Talent wins out in the end. I don't think they win as many games so far as we have last year.
