  • Bus Trips

    Hey guys,
I was just over looking at the UWM message board, and it seems that they have a bus trip going to most, if not all, of their away games. Do you think once we get further into D1, when we have a conference.

I think it would be fun to go to games on a bus with a bunch of other SDSU fans, whereas the trips they allowed for football were very few, just using the extra spots the team didn't use.

I would think that once we get into a conference that they would start bus trips for the fans. Anyone else know if it is in the plans for football and basketball?

    Thanks

I brought this up earlier this year. I think it will happen. I would love to catch the bus as it passes Rocheseter on the way to Milwaukee for the UW-M and Marquette games.

      Re: Bus Trips

There have been bus trips for Jacks basketball and other athletics for quite a few years already. It is done by Jacks fans. The group is called the "Back of the bus". They also put on a yearly steak fry for all of the basketball players, coaches and families during the season as well as a watermelon feed for the football players and soccer players during their season. It gives fans a chance to chat with the student athlets and coaches. They also support through the trips a "back of the bus" yearly scholarship donation and are putting funds towards a perpetual scholarship.

I believe they are scheduling a trip to Fargo for the NDSU double header Feb. 26th.

I have been on many of the trips and it is a reasonable price. We have had 2 buses on many of them. The cost includes bus cost to Fargo and back & game ticket. The bus leaves from the football stadium parking lot, but they have picked up people along the way depending where they live. Many times the parents of players will also go on the trip. They usually set up an alumni gathering at a local resturant and bar before the game. A portion of the cost is then put into the scholarships for a male and female player chosen by the group. For more info you can contact HPER they can get you in touch with Dave & Shar Quam. They are in charge of lining up the bus, getting the game tickets and alumni gathering.
