Conference Game Saturday Starting Times

What's the deal with the 4:00 pm conference games on Saturdays? Was this a Summit League decision? Was it a decision based on the potential of TV broadcasts? What was the thought process? Please explain - I hate it!

(Maybe they're following the lead of Big 10 football with the 11am games. It's all about getting the athletes back to campus so they can study on Saturday nights. Last weekI heard the Big 10 commish again state this was the reason for the 11am games. Everytime I hear that one I can't help but laugh.)

I'm not a fan either. Maybe some sort of compromise for the eastern schools to GTFO of the Dakotas after receiving their beatdowns...

Wait...are you kidding me? I mean as a guy who has to drive two hours to a game, it would make getting him much easier. But what a horrible, horrible idea. If I had to guess, attendance is going to take a significant hit compared to what it would be were the games to all start at 7 as God intended.

could be TV, could be travel, could be many things. IDK about it, I'd like 6 more then 4, 4 is too early, but those 7pm+ starts did seem to get a little late to those that travel. 4 just seems really early though. I'd rather have noon starts.

Three Saturdays will have a Summit Doubleheader on FCS.

We are the early game on two of them, and on the other we are the late game, but the early game starts at 1. I like the early start times. Nothing different than a FB game starting earlier in the day. Beneficial for TV and Jackrabbit fans that travel.

Love going to games, but don't like getting home at 11(although I still go), and I don't live too far away.

You wouldnt get home at 11, if you wouldnt stop at the bars afterwards. BTW, are we going right home tommorrow night or stopping at the bars first?

On the other hand, if fans have a high school game to go to at night, they could still watch the Jacks in the afternoon then go to their high school game that night. I like the afternoon game, now that im an hour and half away.

I think it's a local decision so that fans don't have to miss that night's away game. Blame the mirror scheduling. I'm guessing this is SDSU's way to deal with it in a way that would benefit fans of both MBB and WBB.

Some of this, but mainly I think is the TV situation, with the Summit League's tie in with Fox College Sports, as several of those 4 p.m. games are on FCS
