Re: GDT--Baylor
Tonights the night that SDSU gets to play ball. The games on paper are done, the analysis, posturing whose got more talent, more length, more athleticism....all out the window. Tonight on the floor it gets started and settled. If games were played on paper SDSU wouldn't win 27 wins. Heck they'd never make the tournament. Fortunately they are played on the court where the number of stars behind a recruits name doesn't matter, the ranking of the athlete doesn't matter, the past HS accomplishments, awards and the overall team ranking doesn't matter. For 22 years I've seen kids from the midwest compete on a national level against some of the best talent in the world. Some have been beaten while others rightfully won. This is a team comprised of kids with experience against top talent. They all have HS, Summer ball and college experience. There will be nerves, jitters, mistakes made...but in the end..once and for all the game will be played on the court. Amazing things can happen to a team that simply plays their game and doesn't get caught up in who they are playing against. Wouldn't suprise me in the least bit if SDSU wins the game. We will find out tonight. Go Jacks!

Re: GDT--Baylor
Two former Georgetown Hoyas were doing their picks on Sirius 127 yesterday, Mark Thompson and Matt Tillman. They had agreement in picking the higher seeds, which included Baylor, so SDSU is a big unknown out there. They did not even mention who Baylor was playing. An upset would be interesting and great for publicity and bad news for the pickers, but looking at Baylor players, and their abilities, it will take some doing on the part of our guys

Re: GDT--Baylor
Baylor avg height starting is 6'7 SDSU is 6'6. hopefully we can exploit the guard heights to work a few more rebounds.
Just hope they don't wear those ugly neon yellow uniforms. look like a bunch of tennis balls IMO.
If we hit our 3s, keep rebounding close and score more points then them, if we do, I will feel pretty good about winning this game."The most rewarding things you do in life, are often the ones that look like they cannot be done.” Arnold Palmer

Re: GDT--Baylor
Baylors got all the pressure. We lose, big deal,we're supposed to, Baylor loses, big upset. That can make your shooting percentage go way down, with that kind of pressure.I think Baylor will try and use their superior height advantage early on and avoid taking any high risk outside shots to get going early and avoid getting into a big hole by missing too many nervous outside shots, except from their shooter who shoots above 40%We play this game right,i think we can win this thing.Go Jacks!

Re: GDT--Baylor
Three keys:
Keep composure early. You don't win games in the first five minutes of the tournament but you can lose them. If we're anything better than down a couple possessions, that's a win.
Make half of our threes, and take at least 20.
Hold them even or to a small deficit on the boards. You don't have to win the rebounding battle if you are doing number two, but you can't get blown out on it.
