  • Baylor University Info Thread

I'll try to get y'all familiar with Baylor (in other words brag and tell you **** that you never wanted to know, but we have 3 days to waste). I hope one of you can get over to BaylorFans and post something similar about SDSU for us. Baylor was founded in 1845 by The Republic of Texas (not the state), which is a point of pride for us. Currently we have around 15,000 students (12,000 undergrad) and are located in Waco, TX (Metro Pop. of 230,000). No we aren't Branch Davididans, but we are a baptist school and about 30% of our students are baptist. Here are some pics of BU...

Only 4 pics per post so I'll add to this. I'll add basketball info as I go too...

First the Bench Players. I'm not going to do one of these for players who don't play.

Up first is Anthony Jones (Sr) SG/SF - Houston, TX
        5.1 PPG, 3.0 RPG

4-Star out of high school and was a big player for us in his first two years (starter on an Elite 8 team), but his minutes have been mostly given to Quincy Miller. He is tough to guard as a 6'10" 3 point specialist, but isn't consistent this year. And yes he does look like Brittany Griner with his longer hair.

          Next up...

Gary Franklin (So) SG - Santa Ana, CA
          2.2 PPG, 0.9 APG

Tranfer from Cal who has played sparingly this year, but will probably make an appearance. He usually is good for one three or two a game with an unorthodox shooting style.

Cory Jefferson (So) C- Killeen, TX
            3.7 PPG, 2.7 RPG

4-Star out of high school who hasn't played all that much recently, but has a great frame to develop.

Deuce Bello (Fr) SG- High Point, NC
              3.3 PPG

4-Star who is starting to get more and more playing time. He is known in recruiting circles as an amazing dunker, but his length and quickness makes him one of our best defenders.

AJ Walton (Jr) PG- Little Rock, AR
                4.0 PPG, 2.8 APG

Our much maligned back-up PG, but also our best on ball defender. He's even been shooting a bit better lately.

Quincy Acy (Sr) C- Mesquite, TX
                  11.8 PPG, 7.2 RPG

Our heart and soul and the only starter who played on the Elite 8 team two years ago.

Quincy Miller (Fr) SF- Chicago, Ill
                    11.1 PPG, 5.0 RPG

5-Star freshman who is will be a 1st rounder when he goes pro. Needs to be more consistent, but can't really complain about his performance as a freshman.

Perry Jones III (So) PF - Dallas, TX
                      14.0 PPG, 7.7 RPG

Best talent on our team and will be a high lottery pick when he comes in, but he has to become more consistent.

                        9.6 PPG, 43% from 3

Transfer from Boston College and our 3 point specialist.

Pierre Jackson (Jr) PG- Las Vegas, NV
                          13.3 PPG, 5.8 APG, 43% from 3

The difference maker...Won a national champ last year at the JUCO level and he is the main difference between our 18 win season last year and 27 this year. His quickness is his best asset and he can really get to the basket in a hurry.

I believe you have Daktonics video displays at your football and basketball facilities.

I know football does, not sure if the new basketball one is or not.
