Meh. Let them have the awards, and we'll win the tournament.

Now they've done it. They've made Nate angry. You wouldn't like Nate when he's angry.
      (They've probably also ticked off Nate's teammates a little bit . . .)

Roundtree is Sixth Man of the year. Actually, I can't argue too much about that one.

not really surprised. I figured morrison would win, but felt wolters and or Hamilton were more deserving but being on the best team in the confrence with only 1 loss is hard to pick against.

Interesting, both Morrison and Sutton are deserving.

Honestly just the type of personality Nate has....do you think he cares that much? My opinion is he probably said "Oh....I was up for that? Huh? Alright well i gotta get to the gym."

I was riffing on The Incredible Hulk, actually. From what I know, he probably just shrugged, smiled, and kept shooting when somebody told him. Some of his teammates, on the other hand . . .

I think Griff and Louie Krogman deserved to be on the Honorable Mention list.

I was surprised either werent as well. I would say Parks probably was less deserving but i guess I am biased.

Given that the award is "Player of the Year," not "Most Valuable Player" it seems to me that DoMo is more than worthy. Not sure he's the single most valuable guy on his team, but he's put up the numbers to justify the award.

Part of me thinks it's weird that he doesn't rebound more, but then the other part of me looks at their front line and it makes more sense.

Rebounding isnt just size or height. Its effort and anticipation and wanting it more then the guy next to you. Ala Griff and Nate.

I guess if you look at player of the year differently then MVP, I would lean even more to Wolters with overall stats better, but Hamilton being the leadering scorer in the country thats hard to go against IMO.

You are right about rebounding. I believe it was during the bracketbusters game, Valvano was talking about Wolters ability to rebound despite not having elite physical ability because what Wolters lacks in physical ability he compenstates with anticipation and basketball IQ. As far as Player of the Year, my biased opinion says Nate because he did have better numbers but who actually thinks that ORU leaving actually helped them win the awards not hurt them, as a goodbye, thanks for everything parting gift. Whoever said that Wolters would shrug his shoulders and keep shooting is right, Wolters has one thing on his mind and thats winning and he prolly believes what ever comes with winning like awards is just a bonus.
