    Re: SDSU At Oakland MI

I looked at both 675 and 675-1 to try to tape the game and neither shows SDSU game. I am on Direct TV. One of them shows. BIG 12 Womens game at 6 to 8. Hopefully it shows up soon. I am out of town early this afternoon.

Get out, get on them early. Break their spirit, and we win this one.

From the Grizzly Fan Board -

Some of you know that I keep track of so-called "clutch stats" for the Summit League, which tracks individual performance in crunch time in close games. I define close games as a score differential of no more than 8 points and crunch time as under 4:00 minutes left in the second half (or all of an overtime). I did this last year for Oakland, and it showed that Reggie Hamilton was by far the most clutch player on the team -- he took the most crunch time shots and made a high percentage of them (as did Larry Wright).

Well in conference games this year, Oakland had not had a single game qualify for crunch time, as every game had been a resounding win or a resounding loss. Last night against ORU was the first one to track. So granted this is just one game, but I noticed a troubling fact: Reggie was the ONLY option. Bader took one shot attempt. But other than that, every single shot attempt -- free throws, two-pointers, and three-pointers -- was taken by Reggie.

In those situations, I want the ball in Reggie's hands. He has proven to be very clutch (still feel Oakland would have beat Ohio had he not fouled out leaving no legit options for the final possession). But to go a four-minute period of time at the end of the game without a shot attempt from anyone else but one from Bader is troubling. Gotta mix it up a little bit. And try for more easy buckets with a guy like Valentine.

On here, he's hoopsnut, and he's done a WHALE of job with SUMMITMadness. Interesting that he's seeing a very 1 option OU team at clutch time. Nate is our clutch guy, but is as likely to feed an assist at the end, as he is to take the shot. IMHO, that is the biggest, and most important reason that Nate is a better point guard than Reggie. Unless OU takes down both SDSU and NDSU this weekend, I doubt we'll see another Reggie/Nate match-up game.

Grizzly board doesn't have a thread started for the SDSU game yet. But it is here.

As for cable/dish....nothing gets my blood boiling like talking television and internet services and their asinine charges.

I'm sitting here with my monthly bill (mediacom) in hand...here's the breakdown of my charges.

    Basic tv (about 15 channels)...29.95
Mediacom Online Access (not the highest speed, but not the lowest speed)...29.95
Modem rental....5.00 (I asked about buying my own modem to use, they said they'd then up my internet price to 34.95)
    subtotal...64.90

Add in another 6 bucks in taxes and my bill is over 70 bucks a month.

Horrible, I know, yet I can't pull the trigger on the direct tv/dish network thing because while the initial 29.99/mo thing sounds good, that doesn't include dvr's ($5/mo each) or hd ($10/mo) and all the other asinine charges they come up with. So the 29.99/mo is now $55/mo.

Then, on top of that, you still gotta have internet, which means mediacom would now jack my 29.95 service up to 44.95 because I'd no longer have a package deal. Arggh!

They got you comin' and goin' I tell you. All the while, there is unlimited technology in the world and I can't order a cable package with the 10 specific channels I watch.

/slap......huh...wha? Ahh yes, the game at Oakland...Is Bader finally finding his stroke? If he's still struggling and we shut down the rest of Oakland besides Reggie, he'll get his 20-30, I see no reason why we couldn't win this game.
Dude, I pay $105/month for cable and internet. I have a basic package with a few more channels....maybe 50. It's the smallest one my cable provider offers.

I will trade you cable bills.

Anyway, sorry for going off topic. I won't be able to watch the game, I am out of town. I am dissapointed by that, but will be following on my phone. I feel confident we can win in Oakland. Reggie and Nate will get their points, but if our other four beat their other four, we should win. I really want that bracketbuster game to be on ESPN. I just hope they schedule it at a time of day that I can make it. Or maybe I will just take the day off.
