ASU 16 - SDSU 9 with 11:53 to play in the first half. The good news is that we have their HOT 3 Pt shooter (Nichols) in early foul trouble.

            Go State! ;D

Down 14 at the half, but it is getting ugly.

A point of trivia here. The first team to play in Couglin-Alumni Staduim was Arkansas State. Dont have the exact date but it was 1962. Indians won that one 9-7, and Jacks went to Jonesboro the next year and won, 1963.

Game not going good, but at times we are not all that bad.

Maybe, but Coach Nagy was really lost for words and solutions during the post game show.

He said the guys were playing with the same intensity that they play with against Morningside. About all he can do is look at film and regroup. I dont think coach has ever been this down :'( :'( :'( :'( :'(

Nothing to be down about. ASU is a solid team with a bunch of 'ballers. This is the first year in D1 for you guys!!! Keep your heads up, and good luck the rest of the season, I'll be rooting for you.

                            Re: Arkansas State Indians

Scotty Kwas interviewed Coach Nagy during halftime of the women's game, and Coach mentioned that the team plays well when the guards play well. Looking at the scoring from today, the four guards (Kleinjan, Casey, Geiver, Hokenson) combined to score FOUR points. While our inside players are good, this is very tough to overcome.

                              Re: Arkansas State Indians

Thats the problem we're having right now, guard play. Look at the problems, no three point threat (which leads to a zone defense that hurts our inside presence), around 20 turnovers a game (caused by bad feeds, guards being unable to handle full courts presses), other team shooting threes (guards can't defend the line). We already have the inside presence that we need, and these guys are only going to be more dominant when theres a three point threat on the outside. If you guys are getting discourged this season, just think what we could have if moeller was playing this season. If there was a zone defense he would have killed them with threes this year. Maybe everyone will think that I'm stupid but the differecnce between this team getting killed and being very competitive is having two reliable gaurds. Don't think that Nagy doesn't know this either, I would expect the signing of a juco gaurd, or an excellent highschool player for next year, depending on how good cadwell is.
