    Re: Naters Gonna Nate

It's been tweeted by all the Jacks coaches and TV this morning - Nate has been named third team All-America by the National Association of Basketball Coaches. Ties Bryce Drew for the highest a Summit player has ever been named.

IMO he could have easily been a 2time POY, but happy he got it his senior year. Now, the Jacks need to win the tournament and win a game or two in NCAAs

The press release highlights many of his accomplishments and it is still mind-boggling what he has done.

Wolters, SDSU's initial Player of the Year selection, leads the league in scoring (22.8 ppg), assists (5.7 apg) and assist/turnover ratio (2.5) for the season. He ranks fourth in the NCAA in scoring average and collected a record seven Player of the Week honors, including an unprecedented run of three consecutive in February. In league games, Wolters leads in assist/turnover ratio (2.7, is tied for first in scoring (23.9 ppg) and ranks second in both assists (5.4 apg) and steals (1.9 spg). He is on pace to become the first player in NCAA history to average 20 points, five assists and five rebounds per game in two separate seasons. Wolters is The Summit League's active career leader in six categories (points, assists, field goals made, field goals attempted, free throws made and free throws attempted) while ranking second in rebounds.

It amazes me that you can't see his S under his jersey, or his cape flowing behind him while driving the lane!

That makes him the first player to attain those averages for two seasons since they have kept records for assist which started I think in the 80"s. He is also only 17 rebounds away from being only the second player to ever score over 2000 points, and have 600 assists and 600 rebounds in a career. Amazing!!
13 more rebounds and 16 more points his sophomore season and he would have had 20-5-5 for three straight years!

I started school Spring Semester of Wolters freshman year so I wasn't able to watch him right away. However, some of my friends just raved about how good he was and after the first game I saw him I just knew he had the potential to be a great player but it wasn't until his sophomore year where I truly saw his potential as a possible NBA guy. Having said that he has outperformed all expectations and it is great to see how awesome he has been performing this month. Will he become the first college player to post consecutive 20pts 5ast 5reb seasons?
