It's interesting how differently analyst and scouts rank Nate. It seems as if they either love his game or written him off. Hopefully at least 2 teams have their eye on drafting Nate and know about the others' interest.

Keep voting for Nate in the Bob Cousy award. Yesterday at this time he had 10.04% and today he has 13.80%. He is now in third place, just behind Trey Burke at 15.71%. He still has a long way to catch Aaron Craft, but Nate picked up almost 5% on Aaron yesterday. You can vote multiple times by using different e-mail addresses. I have 3 e-mails and so I voted 3 times.

That happens with many players in NBA mock drafts, especially guards. I've seen guys as lottery picks on some mock drafts, who weren't drafted. Much of it depends on how many underclassmen declare, and the European crop (both talent and contract wise). Overall its a pretty weak top 15 NBA draft, but has a fair amount of depth.

I don't know Nate, but the thing that might hurt his NBA chances is that if he doesn't come out of training camp on a roster he will get a very lucrative European contract, and then will have to chose whether or not to take <$30K playing in the D-league or make 5X that in Europe.

He is not taking Europe out of the equation, but obviously wants a shot in the league. It will be interesting to see what happens. I really hope someone takes a chance late 1st round and he gets the guaranteed $$. I know Europe sometimes gives you a place to live, car, etc on top of your salary so you have to take that into consideration.

My question is the exchange rate. He would get paid in euros right? So say he makes 200k there x 1.35 (obviously changes daily)= 270k USD. Not a bad chunk of change. Not NBA minimum but he's not eating top ramen

Except for a few situations, NBA minimal would pay more then Europe. However Europe pays much much more then the D-League. In the higher leagues many make $100K+ american plus everything else, but their contracts can very greatly, whether or not they have NBA out clauses, or dates, etc. I hope he makes it, and would prefer him go to the D-league if he doesn't out of camp, but could see the Euro's persuading him away.

I always hear stories of players not getting paid in Europe or the teams not treating players right. One question I do have though, is if he is signed to an NBA contract but not a first round pick, and gets assigned to the DLeague does he continue to get paid the NBA salary or does he get a new, different DLeague salary?

As long as you are under NBA contract and under their control, you get their pay. However you still have to ride the bus, and all of which is associated with the D-league. The issue is, very few teams would maintain control of a 2nd round player and have them put an extensive stay in the D-league, because it would be non-guaranteed money going to a D-leaguer.

There are issues with not getting paid in Europe, however the higher leagues tend to have less of a problem then some of the lower ones. I don't follow Euro ball much, but the little I've read it sounds like there are good leagues and bad leagues and it depends greatly on that. I have heard though that security can be a joke and safety concerns are a big problem for many players.

So it looks like Ohio State is starting to vote again for Aaron Craft as his percentage has gone up 0.25% in the last hour. So we need to get the word out again that everyone needs to vote for Nate. I already voted 3 times today, but spread the word.

                      Go State!!!

                                - Nate Wolters needs to average 22.28 ppg over his next seven games (three in Summit Tourney and one NCAA Game) to break the single season SDSU record.
