  • Re: Naters Gonna Nate

Changes were made I believe that allow more coach contact now, but I believe the actual practices start 14 or 16 days before the first game, however I'm not sure if that is the BHSU- exhibition or the Alabama game. Either way its weeks away.

Success however does have a funny thing on the fans. I remember hearing this during a North Carolina game early in Roy Williams tenure, when your program is struggling you hope to win, when its on the rise you expect to win, and when you are there you demand to win. Last season was pretty special, I expect similar results but lets not lose our heads as fans if they lose a game or two they should win.

The Midnight Madness events that many schools have are a week from Friday ( Oct 12th ),so Saturday the 13th would be the official day when practice can start.

If I recall correctly, SDSU has done away with its "midnight madness" type event, can anyone confirm/deny?

I know they didn't last year, whether or not that changes I don't know. Maybe success to the program has changed their idea on that.

CBS sports has Wolters rated #71 in the top 100 NCAA basketball players for 2012-2013. Norlander stated he put Wolters in his top-40, but the rest of his colleagues are brain dead. Here's the full list:http://www.cbssports.com/collegebask...op-100-players

I believe that there will not be a Midnight Madness kickoff

                From CBSSports.com:
The season starts today! So here's our 68 things to watch in 2012-13

                54. Naters Gonna Nate
: Nate Wolters and the Jackrabbits of South Dakota State are on the verge of going mainstream, I think. Hey, I've followed the band since its early days, playing clubs with only 20 people in attendance. Now they've cut their first album with a major record label, and I'm ready to give them away to the rest of you. (Oh; this is your inevitable repeat Summit League champs.) -- M.N.

In other news Matt Norlander may have a bromance with Nater that is becoming somewhat disturbing....but in a good way.....

Wait until he sees the new recruit, Broman, in a couple of years. Will that be a bromance?

Distrubing? Ehh not at all. If you think about it, Norlander has known about Nate Wolters since before last year and the Washington game, so of course he is going to hype up Nate, esp. since he is projected to have a big year. Imagine hearing about a band before they signed a major deal and they sign a major label deal, release their first album, and now everybody is going to love that band now that they are mainstream even though the haven't changed. That is basically what Norlanders situation is, he is going to argue with anybody that says he isn't good and honestly its almost become a game between him and Goodman. Would Nate be as nationally known without Norlander? Ehh idk. Would Naters gonna Nate exist without Norlander? Heck no. It is great to have somebody on a major college analyst network hyping up the Jacks. In conclusion, I am not arguing against you as you said in a good way, but that is just my opinion and further diving into why Norlander is great for SDSU and Nate.

A little bit. But at this point, this team has proven that it is much more mentally tough than teams from the past.

Not going to lie, this whole Norlander-Goodman thing about Nate Wolters is hilarious. They did a fantasy draft and Goodman selected Wolters in the 9th round for 34 overall. Here is the full article:http://www.cbssports.com/collegebask...sketball-draft
