        Re: GDT: U of Washington

Forget the racists and ignoramuses. Best reader comment on that Seattle Times story, even if it, too, had a condescension that is not warranted in that basketball powerhouse, Washington:

        Yeah, UW played bad.

But, I'm thinking this SD State U team is better than anyone hear is giving them credit for being. It is hard to believe that a team from South Dakota would be a good team. There is some cognitive dissonance there.

But those kids played tough, hard, disciplined basketball. They have one of the best point guards in the nation (not a single turn-over!). They are tall and athletic. They were not in the least bit intimidated. They play as a team, very cohesive. They went into the game confident and looked like they believed they could win.

I'm thinking that win was no fluke.

I'm not so sure loosing to SD State is such a bad knock on UW. I think we are going to be hearing more from that team. They might go deep into the NCAA.

The credit should also be given to the assistant coach that was responsible for the scout report on U Dub. A great plan that was obviously very effective. Anyone remember when people wanted to get rid of these guys? I'm happy that they got a signature win under their belt.

              Re: GDT: U of Washington

What a great win for this team and for the program! We've all been kind of wondering what it would look like if the team put a complete game together. Well, in my mind we just saw it and have seen what this team is capable of.

A few things that stuck out to me:

              1. They played with incedible intensity for all 40 minutes!
              2. They hit a big shot every time they needed to stop a run.
              3. Everyone was aggressive offensively. They either got great looks or got to the foul line.
              4. Griffan Callahan vs. Chuck Norris? Toss up!
              5. Wolters, WOW! Nothing new there though.
              6. I love how this team is finishing games on the road with the only exception of UND.

This game should provide a huge confidence boost heading into the conference. If they play well there isn't a team they can't beat. It's time to take the jump and become the team to beat in the Summitt. This team is capable and they seem to have the desire.

Fasten your seat belts! This is going to be a fun season!

Nate Wolters stat line was unbelievable. It may go down as one of the best lines we will ever see. To play that under control with the ball is amazing. Can't wait to watch it tonight!!

Kelo had a few on the 10 p.m. sports broadcast but was hoping someone would put together a youtube highlight video.

It seems to me that Wolters literally "blew up" over night across the basketball world. Just hope we can keep this going without another letdown.
