Gophers lead them by 5 at half. Fairfield was picked to finish 2nd in the MAAC. The team picked 1st, Iona, lead Purdue with less than 20 seconds left today.

Perspective, people. Jacks hung in there against a pretty good team from a tough conference. Not that long ago we were borrowing football players to hold off Southwest Minnesota State. Expectations should be high, but realistic, especially if we are going to challenge our guys with games like this year in, year out. Go Jacks!

I am surprised that people actually expected us to go on the road and beat BCS programs that will finish in the middle of the conferences. SDSU has a solid nucleus of good players and one exceptional player but to expect the Jackrabbits to beat Minnesota or Georgia on the road is just plain wrong. Doesn't mean we can't beat them just means as a fan it isn't very realistic to expect that to happen. I want the players and coaches to feel that way and I think they do.

Now, are the concerns about our 2nd half play reasonable? I think they are. Teams are going to do just what Minn and GU did, shut down Wolters no matter what it takes. If the remainder of our players don't step up it will be tough to maintain leads and finish of good teams. Its really pretty simple, our guys need to shoot better.

Call me a homer but I expect SDSU to win regardless of who we play. Sure if we were facing a ranked team or schools contending for a major confrence title say ohio state very few teams will win regardless how good they are, that is a little different. If we think we are/should be a school that can be a relevent mid major, we need to win some of these games on a consistant basis.

Sure if we were facing a ranked team or schools contending for a major confrence title say ohio state very few teams will win regardless how good they are, that is a little different. If we think we are/should be a school that can be a relevent mid major, we need to win some of these games on a consistant basis.

I say that is a great attitude to have while I reserve the right to believe that it isn't realistic. So, keep expecting it and keep being a fan.
