I think we're in IPFW's head, so I guess I'd pick them. But I do think they are a better team than UMKC.

Like Nagy said, I just hope this loss doesn't affect us in 9 days. But will the kids be thinking about the NDSU game when the SL Tourney game yips off and there is 4k Jacks fans in the Arena?

I think UMKC's got better athletic ability than IPFW.

IPFW may be a better team, however.

Don't care. I know I don't want the Jackrabbit team that showed up against NDSU tonight or against UMKC when we played them in Brookings. I want the Jackrabbit team that showed up against IPFW both times.

I saw last nt in the WCC tourney that they top 2 seeds get 2 byes...all the way to the semi's? Wow.

I will be there Saturday nt, 8pm, for the Bizun-Oral game.....cheering for.....the jacks to get a good nights sleep. Jeez, that's like picking btw a headache and a toothache.

I think the equation is this:

IPFW matches up badly with SDSU. They don't want to play SDSU.

SDSU matches up badly with NDSU. They don't want to play NDSU.

Chances of SDSU playing NDSU in the tournament are vanishingly small.

Trying to spin a positive here....the kids have 9 days to want to get back on the court and get over this beating?

I plan to stay positive. It's been too good of a year and the SL Tourney is way too fun of a time to start getting p*ssed off now. 18-11 w/ alot of frosh and sophs is a great step.

IPFW, maybe avenge last years loss, and if we lose maybe it will put us back in our place of not really being as good as our "pipe" dreams lead us to believe.

I would rather lose to UMKC though, they have played surprisingly well this year.

If IPFW can adopt the philosophy their coach had while playing they will fare much better against the Jackrabbits. SDSU has a tendency to play soft and teams that get after us on both ends seem to gain an upper hand early. If the Jacks don't hit shots there seems to be a sense of panic and pretty soon SDSU is outside their comfort level forcing shots and not flowing on offense while running around on defense forgetting to close out or box out.

Pfife should just have his guys jump into SDSU's shorts and push them around. Get the Jacks out of their comfort zone. I think NDSU does a nice job of that.

That's where SDSU's generally bad defensive play really hurts them. If they're not hitting their shots, they're not that good at stopping the other guys. That's a bad, bad combination.

I don't think the Jack men have had two stinky games in a row this season, and they have played as many as five or six good games in a row. I like playing IPFW in the first round and, most likely, Oakland in the second round. Would love for SDSU and NDSU to match up in the finals, but the Bison most likely will lose to Oral in the first round.
