  • Postseason...

Last year 129 Division I basketball teams made the postseason via the NCAA Tourney, NIT, CBI or CIT. If the Jacks don't win the Summit Tourney is there any chance at a postseason birth? Thoughts?

About the only Summit team that has much of a chance to make a lesser tournament is Oakland,if they don't win the conference tournament. They would get an automatic NIT bid as a regular season conference champ that didn't win their tournament.

Probably true. Was it last year or the year before that IUPUI made either the CBI or CIT? I believe they had 26 wins though.

Good luck to ORU. I hope they can win a couple of games.

North Dakota made it with a 19-14 record. I guess winning the Great West is worth something.

The CIT gives THE GWC Champ an auto bid. Same reason USD played in the CIT last year at Creighton.

That's too bad, but not surprising considering the Jacks were #5 in the conference.

Now I don't feel so bad. Thanks for the explanation.

Well, at least the guys are close enough to see it from here, now . . .

Just have to make one more push to get over the top.

Hit the weights this off-season, guys! 1000 shots/free throws a day! Do what you gotta do to get better--because everybody else in the conference is doing it, too.

Yes. Oakland will be quite good again next year. Oral Roberts will be even better because Craion should be back, and a good Frosh/Soph set will be returning from this year's title game. IUPUI returns their stars (assumes Young does not declare for the NBA draft). Western should be decent (decimated by injuries this year). IPFW like the Jacks and NDSu lose some star players, but have seen groowth by the younger player as the season progressed.

Hopefully, the Summit is ratcheting up their performance, and RPI next year so that we will see two maybe 3 teams in the top 100.

This and the fact we didn't have a "signature" win. Iowa was terrible this year, Nevada wasn't good and Eastern Illinois was down. If we had beaten Oakland or managed to finish #3 in the conference I think we would have been invited.
