I know the players feel real bad after this loss (nice to see them caring enough to hurt). The fans feel bad too. But it's just one game. We have so many big games left this year, many at Frost. I strongly believe in good losses. Anyone who doesn't obviously doesn't believe a team/player can learn from it, and that is very far from the truth. Last night was another lesson for our young, up-and-coming Jacks. I think, at the end of the day, this is a good loss...you just wish it didn't happen at home, in conference and against the green. There are many lessons to be taken from this.

And come back. It was so nice to see nearly every seat full. Come back next Saturday to watch a real good, real athletic UW-Milwaukee team.

As sad as I was that the Jacks didn't get this game, it is now done and the key thing is how the coaches and team respond to this loss. Perhaps some of the young players got a first look or a reminder of how things are different in conference play. I'm reasonably optimistic that this team will use this loss as a learning experience and more forward well from here.

I don't think any of us thought they were going to go undefeated in the conference season, so most of the sting is due to the opponent and the fact that we lost at home.

While I was in attendance...as fate would have it (fate being my occupation) I don't know when I'm going to be able to attend another game at Frost. That being said, the performance of both teams while I was in attendance makes me think perhaps I should stay away.

Really a tough game to watch, I could sense that we just didn't have the energy and desire to get over the hump in the second half. More importantly, I could sense that NDSU really wanted to win, I mean they smelled blood in the water and went after us. Wolter kept us in the game but poor discipline on defense, especially the defensive glass, and a lack of spacing/motion on offense prevented us from winning.

The game was unfortunately very similar to the last several years.

Exactly...I have not posted on this wknd's debacle considering I felt like I got kick in the sac TWICE that night and my stomach still aches.

I swear...one of these years in Frost against the Bison...if we don't put someone on the ground...HARD...the Bison are just going to keep having their way with us. I've been saying this for four years. Someone trys to fly through the lane on a drive or on an offensive rebound, there at some point needs to be some blood and it needs to happen EARLY in the game!
At some point this team has to be as sick as I am of losing to these f-ing guys and don't even get me started on the women.

P.S. I'm obviously not over this wknd, so I'll see you all next week. I honestly almost turned in my Blue and Yellow fancard Saturday walking out of Frost.

I agree with you 100%. Don't cheap shot anyone but let them know that if they are going to drive it's not going to be uncontested. If we give them a couple good hard fouls, it'll make them think twice. When that little PG drove right down the middle of the lane and EVERYONE stood and watched, I wanted to scream (in fact, I did and I think I scared the family that was sitting next to me). That should never ever happen. At the very least contest the shot, at the most, knock his ass to the ground and make him earn it.

We don't have that "enforcer" this year. Need to figure out a way to bring back Casey Estling, at least in spirit. I think Griff or Jordan could be that guy but Jordan already has enough trouble picking up fouls and we need Griff on the floor as much as possible.

I have tried to find the positives from the performance Saturday and I'm stuck on Nate alone.

Now almost two days removed from the losses Saturday night, I still feel deflated. There have been many negative posts so far about Saturday nights games. Many I do not understand. It was incredibaly hard to take the losses we did against NDSU. However, this season is far from over for both of our Jacks teams. As a former Jackrabbit student athlete and alumnus I can tell you that our player's do not feel good about those losses. It seems to me that many posts on here come from people who are looking only at one perforamence, especially on the men's side. I was completely surprised by our effort on the men's side against NDSU. If you watched the previous men's games this year, you would have noticed that our guys go incredibaly hard for the whole game and they definitely hustle. Our guys worked their butts off against Nevada. They played very hard against Iowa. I saw the Nevada and Idaho State game in person and the Iowa game on TV. I plan on attending most of their games this year. Its interesting that some are all over Dykstra. He has seven games under his belt in his collegiate career. Against Nevada he had 23 points. Nevada is down a bit this year but still, they are no stranger to good basketball. We need to consider that Dykstra just had an off night. One would understand that based on his previous performances. Its too bad it was against NDSU though. He will rise to the occasion in the future. I am sure he learned a lot against NDSU. I can gaurantee his hunger for next year's NDSU game at Frost is extremely high. Our other guys learned a lot as well. They need to be more physical, no question about that. Callahan goes as hard as anybody from what I've seen up to the NDSU game. Clint clearly had an off night. Not much you can do there. He needs to keep shooting and maybe look for some better looks at the basket. Moss did an excellent job on defense. I think when you combine a off night from Clint, a off night from Dykstra and some great performances from NDSU, we lose by SEVEN. If Clint puts three more balls throught the hoop we either win or go to OT. I lost my voice after Saturday night from yelling. I think as Jackrabbit Nation, we need to stand behind these guys at all times. Maybe we should have more than 2,200 fans for the Nevada game, maybe everyone should stand during big plays. I can't tell you how many times fans in the GA section would not stand up when we were making a charge. If you go to big time college basketball arenas you would notice that fans stand a lot more than we do. Why were fans charging for the exits when we were down 6 points with a minute and a half left in the game? I can definitely tell Jackrabbit Nation definitely has a hunger for our men's team but we need to be more committed fans. 6-1 record. With a win over Iowa and a loss to a very talented NDSU team. This will be an exciting season for our men's team. Stick with them and show up! Believe in Nagy and his staff! He has grown as a coach and honestly I wouldn't pick anyone else right now to lead us. The women's team has work to do. I'm sure AJ knows that, enough said. They have earned the right for us not to be all over them. Go RABBITS!

There's the game Wednesday against Mayville St which shouldn
t be much of a test but then Wisconsin-Milwaukee is in Frost on Saturday and that should be another great game!

I'm with you and will back the team! They will grow from this! I think we've already seen that this year but it wasn't there Saturday! Turn the page!
