Re: Idaho State.....
7'0, 6'11 and three 6'9 guys....plus a 7'4 transfer from Central Florida that has to sit this year out.
Their 7/240 guy (SR Deividas Busma from Lithuania by way of Western Nebraska CC) starts and is averaging 33 mins 15pts 9rebs 1.7 bs.
One of their 6'9/225 guys (JR Abner Moriera from Brazil by way of Western Wyoming JC) also starts and is averaging 26.3 mins and is fourth in scoring at 5.7 and third in rebs at 4.3 (they have a 6'5 guard averaging 7.3 rebs a game).
Their backup 6'11 guy from Poland has played in all three games, but is averaging just 6 mins per game (0.3ppg 1.3rpg 0.7bspg)
One backup 6'9 has played just one game for a total of 8 mins. That games was against NAIA foe Great Falls, where he totalled just one rebound.
So their bench appears pretty thin and I imagine we'll see their 7' and 6'11 starters, their 6'11 bench guy for a half dozen minutes and then their guards.
Another 6'9 hasn't played and appears to be redshirting along w/ their 7'4 guy.
Other than that their guards aren't all that big. They play a 6'5 guy, two 6'3 guys and a couple 6-footers. By the stats it looks like they must go to a 4-out, 1-in for roughly 1/3 of the game as their two bigs on the bench rank 10th and 11th in minutes played out of the 11 guys who have played so far this year (games at Colorado 88-80 loss....at Arizona 90-42 loss....vs. NAIA Great Falls 78-68).

Re: Idaho State.....
Do you suppose the international players went to Idaho State because of the potatoes?Over? Did you say "over"? Nothing is over until we decide it is! Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor? Hell no!--Bluto--

IMO, the Jacks will see the benefit of having a deeper roster this year. Nagy will be able to do line changes and hopefully keep the fresher legs on the floor. I think that an uptempo game could be in the Jacks' favor.-South Dakotan by birth, a Jackrabbit by choice.

Re: Idaho State.....
As LakeJack shared with his link, Idaho State is an interesting matchup. Broderick Gilchrest, a 6'0" senior from Memphis, TN leads the team. He scored 39 points in their home opener last week. He has a winning pedigree as his high school team was undefeated his junior year and was ranked in the top 10 nationally and he played a major role on that team.
ISU struggles on the road. They have lost 20 straight road openers, the last three were against Marquette, Iowa, and Iowa State. They are also 2-33 in non-conference road games.
They do return five players from last year's roster, the other 11 rostered players are new. SoDakJack is spot on where our depth and fresher legs could be a key difference.

Re: Idaho State.....
We have to push the ball while not turning it over and shoot well. Not likely we will win the rebounding battle and unlikely we'll be able to run anything inside out of the half court set.
So, knock down 35-40% of our 3's, get some fastbreak points and keep the to's under 15, we should be able to win. It will help if we can draw some fouls and make FT's as well.We are here to add what we can to life, not get what we can from life. -Sir William Osler
We do not see things as they are, we see things as we are.
