    Gopher game...

    I purchased 4 tickets to the SDSU vs U of Minn basketball game at a chamber/sertoma fundraiser on Saturday night. Hoping to make it up early Thursday.

    89, any plans in place for the alumni association?

    Nope, due to budget constraints and the fact that games that take place that close to Christmas (Dec. 23rd) aren't well attended the Alumni Association decided to pass on the Gopher game this season. Sorry.

        Wasn't Stub and Herb's closed during last year's game due to legal problems of some sort?

          Don't know, I wasn't able to be there. I reserved a couple of rooms right near campus last night and intend to be there this year. If they are closed I guess I'll find another joint near campus.

              Sallys is a great place to hit before the games. Just south of Williams and within walking distance.

                You read my mind. Already have rooms right on campus. Drop the kids at Gma's after work Wednesday. Head to Minneapolis Thursday morning, pre-game, game, post-game, hotel, head back to SD on Christmas Eve. Now, I just need the weather to cooperate.

                Hopefully Chuck Iverson will meet us for a beer before or after.

                  Per this release the Gopher game will be available "exclusively" on ESPN3.com. I'll be there so of little concern for me. Not sure if this affects the the availability via the jackrabbit extra package (or whatever its called).

                      That's disappointing - the last couple of years the game has been on the Big Ten Network.

                          It's a good one for me, though... I have Internet through Knology and can get ESPN3. Can't get the Big 10 network, though.

                              that is incorrect. stub & herb's is not closed. they were made to close for one weekend last fall because they were charged with service to a minor a couple weeks earlier during the minnesota vs. michigan state football game on halloween night. it was simply one of those lame undercover sting ops where a city licensing bureau sends in a group of 20 year olds who all look like they are 28 to see if they can get the establishment to serve them a drink. apparently one of them was served during the sting.

                              that was a long time ago though. stub & herb's is fully open and doing some good business.

                              p.s. nice work on beating down the iowee squawkeyes today. that kid from st. cloud, mn (wolters??) is a baller.

                              ioweee = worst school in the big ten with some of the most boorish fans in the country.
